Great trumpet player, and unique vocalist.  Tragic story.  Big drug addict.  Y'know CHET BAKER fell out a window in Netherlands, I think...

"The Classic Early Recordings in Chronological Order (Disc 1)" by Django Reinhardt

Gramophone Explorations, Vol. 2.  I actually thought I couldn't play this disc, because it's an old CD-ROM and it seems like newer players never recognized it, but I put it in my computer and no problem!  I bought three of the albums profiled on this sampler, plus an album or two mentioned in the accompanying magazine, so it was pretty influential to me.  It also came with a very cool computer program that generated random music (you choose instruments, tempo, key, and certain other parameters, but the notes were random).  I spent hours playing with that program and recorded some pretty cool songs.
