Trying to remember a sci-fi film from around the 70's

The main thing I remember is these small fluid moving aliens in a bedroom. I think they were silver and they moved slow and maybe with a silver(?) line connected to them. I was really young when this came on in the late 70's/early 80's. any ideas?

This came out years earlier than the Abyss.

I think that Xtro might be your film, I do remember something like that with aliens in a bathroom.

From what I remember these were friendly aliens. It might have possibly been a kids movie with aliens. Definitely from late 70's till around 1982.

I have a possible for this, based on an IMDB search.  Oddly, it sounds like a prior art example of "Solarbabies."
