When I went on the wagon,I found myself craving lotsa sugar...it's slowed down somewhat. But If I had to pick a #1...it would be Jujy Fruits....also like
.BOSTON BAKED BEANS! Yummmm.....
 Dots!
BABY RUTH!!!! (Even if they do look like turds.)
Whatever happened to BUBS DADDY gum? They were big foot and a half sticks of gum,and you could jam about 3 in your mouth and psychadelic drool would run down your face...

Didn't like candy much as a kid except at Halloween and that was only for the candy bars like 3 Musketeers, Snickers, Milky Way, Reese Cups, etc.

One time we took a vacation to Gettysburg and Hershey Park when I was about 8 years old and we were camping not far from Hershey Park and we got a giant Hershey Chocolate bar and ate the whole thing. Well.....it was 100 degrees that week and the whole thing made me sick and remember waking up in the middle of the night to throw-up at the camp ground restroom.

My wife introduced chocolate to me again later, but now we only eat Dark Chocolate for the anti-oxidents.

We like to take Sour Patches with us on long trips.

I remember as a kid, my mother refused to buy this for me because it was just pure sugar. Of course, multiple boxes of candy cigarettes and cigar-shaped gum was ok with her.

Years ago, I went through a Gummi Bear phase. I'd get the big huge bags from Costco and just eat them by the handful.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Canada's Jersey Milk Bar is now tops with me. Also have a love of Skittles, Tic Tacs (but only the orange ones), Mentos (fruit-flavored), Maynard's Wine Gums and Fruit Gums, Cadbury Creme Eggs although they're only out around Easter time. The Caramilk bar is an old favourite too as will as Caramilk rolos type candy and of course there's Rolos themselves.

Ash-

Life savers used to make the best suckers, not anymore. The ones i see have changed, but they used to have large whitish suckers with swirls of color. now they look like a life saver on a stick and don't taste nearly as creamy and good.

Gum - The best gum in the world is FELIX GUM. This is coming from a former gum freak who would stand by this and my love of Hubba Bubba. I don't know if it's even made anymore but we got it overseas in the 70's . Whenever someones mom went to Hong Kong we would beg and fork over money for this gum. My bro sent me an envelope a few years ago with felix drawn on it and "Guess what's inside?"

It is THE most coveted gum by ..well by me. Because it stays soft FOREVER, and never loses it's flavor. The elasticity is amazing..it's probably made of whale blubber like some gums from the day used to be but omg.

so if anybody happens to be going to japan, i'll give you money. and my firstborn...

I'm going to japan in septmenber...

seriously rebel? well you know you should check out the candy shop anyhow, japan has lots of really tasty candy

and well, if you just so happen to see any felix. I'm still not sure if it's made anymore or if distributors online (if you can even find them) are selling old boxes. sigh

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« Reply #24 on: May 15, 2007, 08:33:38 AM »

I've never been much of a candy eater (my sugar fix comes from Dr Pepper), but I'd have to list Heath Bars, Nestle Crunch, Twix and $100 Grands among my favorites, along with caramel squares and (more so as a kid) SweetTarts, Spree (not the new "chewy" Spree, but the good old hard, candy-coated sugar rock kind), butterscotch hard candy and Wild Cherry LifeSavers. For a cough, I'll still buy Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops even though I know they are just candy with some vitamin C added; they just taste so good that I'll suck down a bag of them whenever I get a sore throat. Nowadays, though, most candy is too sweet for me; for example, eating a Hershey's Kiss literally makes my teeth hurt.

Reese's peanut butter eggs are probably my favorite.  However, I also like the pull and peel twizzlers and real German gummy bears.  The whole speech about American gummy bears in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" cracked me up.

I am allergic to dairy and as such as a kid I never developed much a taste for sweet things.  Any sugar I do get comes from colas.

But this gentleman stole $250K worth of Skittles:

Circus Peanuts!  BounceGiggle
They're addictive.  I seemed to have lost my sweet tooth over the years though, and don't eat much candy anymore.
