Not really a kid, young adult rather, black, either sold or repaired TV, and has a brother that just got out of prison and had all kinds of problems. I believe the one that was in prison killed their father when he was young because of the dad beating the mom. The tv dude meets a girl, and she ends up getting accidentally shot by prison brother, who then kills himself, but she lives. One scene showed prison-boy showing up late and drunk to a bank robbery. Any Ideas? Thanks, Greg.

Uh.. could it be Jason's Lyric?  That has a young black man who I think works at a tv store whose brother just gets out of prison, and he's trying to help him out.  They both still live with their mom.  There's a scene where prison brother (who's name is Josh) has made a big Thanksgiving feast with turkey, and all sorts of other food, but the mom just throws it all in the trash because she knows her son bought everything with drug money.

Film ends with Josh shooting Jason's girlfriend, and then, out of remorse, shooting himself.  Jason carries his girlfriend's body away.  We then cut to a scene inside a train where Jason is sitting, he then leans over and his girlfriend is with him (apparently she didn't really die.)

Anyway, that's the only film I can think of that fits the description.

That really sounds like it, and I remember the girlfriend being hot. Was there a scene where the prison brother shows up late and drunk to an armed robbery? Everything else checks out exactly, like the assumption that she was dead for a few moments. Thanks, Greg.

I think so... not sure, didn't see all the movie.  I do know he's involved in some sort of crime.

Another thing I remember is never the end of film after the Jason's girlfriend gets shot he carries her away from the house, and there's another woman there being rather hysterical that a police office is trying to restrain (I think it might be Josh's girlfriend, I'm not sure).

What really struck me about this scene is where have a double homicide and there are only TWO police officers at the scene!  Either they couldn't afford more cop extras or that is just a REALL underprotected neighborhood.

Also, about the hot girlfriend, she's played by none other than Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of Will Smith.  She also played Niobe in the Maxtrix series.  If you decide to re-watch the film, try to get the unrated version... :)
