I came across this freaky bit of New Orleans history while looking up info on Elizabeth Bathory and other female serial killers. I had never heard the story before, but just reading the Wikipedia page was enough to give me the chills.

Does anybody know if there's been any movies made, or books written about this? It says that actor Nicholas Cage recently purchased the house where it all happened (now considered the most haunted spot in New Orleans), so it could possibly mean he's planning on making a movie; in any case, my morbid sense of curiosity wants to know more.

Wow. That is fascinating. I am a big "true crime" buff, and have not heard of her. This is quite a story! Wonder why it isn't as infamous as the H.H. Holmes story? It certainly is even MORE grusome. Truth is,indeed ,scarier than fiction! Karma!

I havent gotten into true crime that much, mainly anything to do with Bathory, Vlad Dracul, the Manson family, Jack the Ripper, and to a lesser extent, Lizzie Borden, interest me.

Never heard of Holmes, but I checked him out on Wikipedia, and now I have to know more about that, too. Also, the article mentions some others, like Thomas Neilcreem (who I kind of knew about, inasmuch as he is related to the ripper case), the servant girl annihalator, and the Bloody Benders. Needless to say, I have a lot of reading ahead of me.
