The famous footage given the restored treatment and stabilized.

Real or not?

I dunno, but this is pretty cool...

With it restored and stabilized....it looks much more fake to me.  That's a shame, as RC said - I want to believe.

RC - Bigboob.  LOL  Karma for you my friend.

I admit I thought exactly the same thing.

Less like an unknown cryptozoological human-like giant ape able to battle both The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman and more like a guy walkng through the woods in a monkey suit.

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

I thought I remembered seeing where the guys that made this film admitted it was faked. Not that it would matter much; the guys responsible for the first crop circles admitted what they'd done and people still believe that alien artists are at work. Ah, well, at least it's all entertaining...

There was an episode of Penn & Teller's Bullsh!t that interviewed the perpetrator's son, showed behind the scenes pictures and the original footprint maker.

It is a shame though.  I'd like to think there's some lonely, hairy monster living in a cabin, sipping Brandy in front of a roaring fire, writing his memoirs.  There was talk a year ago or so about bringing Rob Zombie's Bigfoot comic to the screen.  That'd be fun.

The thing that destroys the credibility for me is that the guys said they were going into the woods to look for bigfoot.  The odds of encountering bigfoot purely by chance are extremely low.  Considering that about 99.999% of the people out in the woods aren't looking for bigfoot, what are the chances that the remaining .001% who are might encounter one?  Too low to be believable in my opinion.

The Patterson film always kind of bothered me.  If this were a wild man beast, would the only thing he'd do is give an over the shoulder "How ya doin" look to the camera?  Then again I'm not a Yeti...or at least I think I'm not anyhow.

Now if we can just find that pesky Chupacabra.

I've always been fascinated with Bigfoot and other cryptozoological beasties. As a kid, I used to go hiking in the woods near my aunt's house. My cousin and I were always terrified that Bigfoot was going to catch us and rip us limb from limb. Of course, these woods were just 30 miles north of San Fransisco, so I doubt old Sasquatch was going to catch a bus in order to come kill us, but as a youth, the thought of encountering him was terrifying. Of course the situation wasn't helped by those pseudo documentaries like In Search of or The Mysterious Monsters or any of a dozen other shows/films from the 70's that scared the crap out lil Shadow.

As an adult, I really would like to believe that Bigfoot exists, but the rational, logical part of my brain (small is it may be) tells me it just isn't so. Still, anything Bigfoot related is guaranteed to get my attention.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I'm with you on the cryptozoology Shadow.  I have many books (oddly most of them bought on discount) on the subject.  I keep asking though, if solid proof did exist of things we partake in, would there be any interest?  So in a way I hope they never prove the things in cryptozoology.
