Dead Alive vs Braindead

I've got the UK release of Dead Alive (called Braindead) and was just curious to find out what had been cut out on the US release. Anybody know?

The US release of Dead Alive is only missing 7 minutes of footage that was in the uncut version of Braindead. It's mostly dialogue and character development. There isn't a lot of gore missing although I heard that the lawnmower scene is a couple seconds shorter, it didn't look any different to me when I watched both versions.

Sure DEAD ALIVE (1992), or  known as BRAINDEAD in New Zealand, is available in both R and Unrated versions. However, if you see the totally uncut New Zealand version it contains more than the U.S. so-called "Unrated" version. Even the New Zealand version contains a beginning sequence featuring the New Zealand flag and a shot of the Queen riding on horseback while the music "God Save the Queen" is playing in the background. (This was cut out do to our American society of "We don't serve the King or Queen of England" bull***t attitude. However, I myself would highly sallute the Queen or the British flag whenever I watch a Peter Jackson film like BAD TASTE or DEAD ALIVE.) If you want more info on the New Zealand uncut version of DEAD ALIVE, go to www.imdb.com, type in DEAD ALIVE, and go to the "alternate versions" section wher it explains all the sequences cut out of the U.S. Unrated version.

All we need is Anchor Bay to release the New Zealand uncut version, and then we all will be set for life.

Asking the difference between versions of DEAD ALIVE on this board is like asking the technical stats of the Starship Enterprise at a Star Trek convention.
