DAN CANDY'S LAW (1974) a.k.a Alien Thunder - This film stars Donald Sutherland as a Canadian Mounty who had to stop a Native Canadian from killing his own cow for food. The Native Canadian is captured, escapes, and kills Dan Candy's friend and fellow Mounty. Dan Candy sets out to kill him, but the Native Canadian with his pregnant wife eludes him in the wilderness. Finally when he gets close to capturing him when a company of Mounties open cannon fire on the Natives. The performance by Donald Sutherland alone is more than worth the $1 that I payed for this film and you also have Chief Dan George as an elder. The film covers the Native experience of transition to raising cattle effectively. The film seems to have a large gap in it, but somehow I enjoyed it anyway. It's suppose to be based on a true story.
(6 out of 10 Stars) Check out Sutherland in this one. You'll enjoy it.
