I caught this one back when I was 7 or 8 on a Creature Double Feature.  I'm pretty sure it's an anthology movie and I thought it was The Monster Club until I tracked that one down and didn't see the clip I remember.

The short starts with a guy pulling up to a store front that could be in a strip mall somewhere.  Standing out front is this crazy old homeless guy that our hero casually shrugs off on his way into the building.  Once inside, he finds an empty office space and eventually wanders until he falls into some kind of pit.  There's nothing in the pit but at one end is some kind of a door, I seem to remember it being an overhead door like a garage door.  Every so often, the door raises a little and a bottle of booze rolls out.  Naturally, the guy drinks it and comes to be dependent on it.  He goes crazier and crazier until he's a full on drunken bum.

How he resolves to get out of the room is a mystery to me these days, but he eventually does.  I suspect that whoever trapped him and is feeding him booze lets him out one day.  He winds up looking drunk, homeless and crazy out front of the office as another guy is heading into the building, who also casually shrugs him off and the cycle, presumably, starts again.

That's what I remember.  It gave me chills as a kid and I'd love to find out what it is so I can track it down again.  Does this sound even remotely familiar to anyone?

That sounds a lot like a segment in Alien Zone aka The House of the Dead (1978).

In fact, I'm pretty sure that is the film you seek.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Hell yeah!  That's the one!  Thanks man.

I'll tell you what, though.  After reading reviews, this is one of those hindsight memories that make me wonder what was wrong with me when I was little.  This doesn't sound like something I'd like to relive.  After all, Squirm scared the s**t out of me, too, so, you know...

Great catch, though.  I have literally spent years tossing that one out and no one, NO ONE has been able to put a title to it.

It's funny, because I also remember seeing it on TV as a kid. The segment you mentioned was also the only one I could recall. For years and years I never knew what the film was until it popped up on a video podcast.
