It has been a long time, but I remember a movie where there is a scene where various people are in cells with "mental illnesses"  What struck me was in one of those cells was a woman who undressed and did a striptease while the people outside the cell looking.  I know that it is not much to go on, but anybody out there can give it a stab.

I was thinking that this may be Madhouse with Joshua Leonard and Lance Henriksen: there was a lady who specialized in this art in that film.

Thanks for the info so far.  No I think it a much longer time ago than the Hendriksen version.  It look ed to be made in the late 70s or early 80s.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but could it be "Don't Look In The Basement" AKA "The Forgotten".  I've forgotten what illnesses most of the asylum patients had but I think it's your film.

I'd bet that this is Die Blaue Hand.  Also known as Creature With The Blue Hand, as well as The Bloody Dead.  An older film, from the late 60's. Based on a Edgar Wallace story or novel. More of a mystery than a horror film, sort of a German giallo, if you will.

Our local station showed the thing uncut the first time they showed it, including the nude woman dancing in her cell.  I told all my friends about it, and got them to watch it the second time it made it into rotation. Of course, they cut out the naked woman the second time around.

The Bloody Dead has some utterly pathetic scenes shot in the 80's tacked on.  Watch at your own risk.

But ya gotta love Klaus Kinski, if for no other reason than the fact he brought Nastassja into the world

Java:

Your summary I think is on the mark.  I would probably have to get confirmation from other viewers and view it myself before this goes in the Solved category.  Nice work!! Thumbup

After looking at some YouTube clips, I can confirm that Creature with the Blue Hand had the stripper in the cell scene.  Put this in the solved category.  Nice work!!  Cheers
