whats the name of the comedy-western movie,
where the goodguys are onboard a train being chased by the badguys who are on horseback.
i think there's some sort of safe/vault full of money that the badguys want,
one of the goodguys on the train gets accidentally shot in the leg by a feisty woman whose with them.

the train starts to slow down and so the goodguys decide to tell some of the other passengers to get off the train, so they can release some of the other train-carriages,
they then get back up to full speed.

the film finishes where somehow the badguys end up with the safe but cant get it open,
so they blow it up and the money goes anywhere.

by the way its not butch-cassidy

This sounds like Cactus Jack with Kirk Douglas and Arnold Schwarzenegger as a handsome stranger named Handsome Stranger.  TeddyR

How about ONE MORE TRAIN TO ROB (1971) with George Peppard?

I would have said the unknown film was either "The Train Robbers" and/or "Cactus Jack, which was known as "The Villain," here in the U.S., but since it wasn't those two, it might be "One More Train to Rob," which I have also seen, but can't remember much about. Was there alot of Asian actors in the film? That is what I remember best from "One More Train to Rob."

Please, unless you have a possible suggestion or can help to rule out a movie, do not post in a "what was that film" thread.

These are longshots at best but might it be either of two Robert Mithcum westerns from the late 60s:

Young Billy Young
or
The Good Guys and the Bad Guys

Both were mildly comic in tone, and at least one involved a train robbery. Haven't seen them in years but they might be worth a look.

"The Good Guys and the Bad Guys" I had forgotten about that one, but from the first poster's description of what he remembers, it sure sounds like "The Gppd Guys and the Bad Guys."

There is a comedy-western called "Rustlers' Rhapsody" that has a train robbery in it but your other points don't match my memory of it.  Just thought I'd toss it out there.
