It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Got this request via e-mail, any ideas?

Quote
13 years ago I watched a movie in cable television. It
was about a physician sent from Earth to work in other
planet. In that planet there was a Blood Sea, and
Night and Day were separated (i think there was a wall
separating the planet sides), and there was also a
legend about the two sisters that separated (or
fought), (this was the cause of the separation of day
and night) and all this appeared in a song in the
movie.
This physician was taught by another one, older, and
in this planet, to make the surgery was used special
gloves, which could cut trough skin at physician´s
will. And, to finish, there was a political plot, and
some king was infested with "maggots" because of this
plot.

I was too young, and my mind shuffled the movie´s name
to something like "Ruphia", or "Rufia".

I kindly ask your help, and already thanks your
attention and any answer that could be given.

"White Dwarf"

I keep meaning to review this one.  It is a mix of science fiction, almost bushido values in some ways, and even a western.

Yup.  It was a TV-movie that wanted to be a series pilot, but it really didn't establish enough interesting threads for an ongoing series.

Yeah, I remember this one. It took me two times to remember it, but, yeah I remember it. And Andrew is right.

The writer was Bruce Wagner, who two years previously, had written the television miniseries "Wild Palms." I always thought his ideas were good, but that their execution could have been better. I don't know what he is doing now, as he has--apparently--not written anything since 2001.
