You have to watch this for yourself.    *****WARNING*****  The pot bellied pig's condition might make some of you guys feel a bit squeamish.  I had a hard time keeping my eyes off of Laura the reporter.

I saw some story the other day of these folks in I think i was NJ that lived in a multi million dollar McMansion in a gated community and had over 70 cats, a bunch of dogs and a few other animals. They found 24 dead cats in the garage in boxes and a bunch of other stuff. The animal workers collecting the animals said it was the worst they'd ever seen and the smell was over whelming and they had to ware breathing mask in the house. And to top it off the house is in foreclosure. I can't find that story right now but was just as bad as the FL house.

Ok, I grew up in the big city and am ignorant when it comes to some animals. Can anyone tell me why neglecting the pig resulted in mammoth balls?

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Ok city boy, likely the pig was in a confined space and spent a lot of time in it's own waste which is nothing but bacteria, if the pig can't get up and move around thus airing his oysters out it can get a surface infection which will work it's way into the scrotum and fester. Pigs believe it or not are contrary to their reputation are actually a clean creature even if does lay around in the mud. His tusk were to long to, they needed to be docked.

I actually dated a girl back in the mid 90's whose family had a pet Vietnamese pot bellied pig.  This pig was smarter than about any dog that I've see and was actually cleaner than a dog as well.

What was great was that it would get up in your lap and lay while you pet it.  Too funny.   TeddyR

I want to add to that, I'm no farmer, but I've been told the main reason pigs lay in mud to begin with is to keep cool, as they don't have sweat glands.

Correct and it keeps the bugs off of them, if you ever go out in the swamps or woods, try putting mud on instead of bug repellent and see which side gets bit the most. Skitter's can't bite through mud.
