If you were given command of a starship...which ship would you choose?

I'm not talking about single seat space fighters...I'm referring to spacecraft that can hold multiple occupants.

I chose the U.S.S. Enterprise first and foremost because of it's powerful defensive and offensive weaponry and its relative comfort.

-----------------------------------------------------

For my second choice, I'll take Lone Star's Winnebago from Spaceballs.   Smile
(as long as there's a can of liquid Schwartz in the glove box!)

How about you?
Which spaceship would you want to command?

(You are allowed to pick two ships...be sure to mention your second choice)

Well...I sure would'nt want the one from 2001:Space Odessy- HAL is a real S.O.B.
And I would'nt want the one from LOST in SPACE...whatta bucket of bolts!
I would want the one from MARS ATTACKS because...well.it just looks real cool, and it can bottle up Atomic weapons to be smoked! BounceGiggle BounceGiggle And it's stocked with girly magazines, and that thing where I can switch peoples heads with dogs and stuff! And the laser weapons make a cool noise too.  Cheers

Although the Enterprise is a beautiful ship, I would have to go with the USS Defiant from DS9. It's small and way overpowered, but it's got those cool pulse phaseers and lots of quantum torpedoes.  It's a little on the ugly side, but it's got a cloaking device.

Dang, lots of good choices. but I'll go with the White Star simply because I really like Babylon 5.  The Lexx is a close second, especially if Zev/Xev is on board as a crew member.

Two more to add are the SDF from the Macross series and also the Argo from "Star Blazers."

Based on what is available, I'd go with LEXX, though keeping it fed (fueled) might worry me.

I picked the Defiant,  I have always loved it.  Stripped down, fast. and near indestructable.  The rest of the Federations ships are sort of pale and flabby by comparison.  I also love the Romulan Warbird.
The Imperial Star Destroyer has a huge amount of bloat.  Too much crew!
Um, I didn't see the Millenium Falcon on there.  Did I miss something?

I have to go with the Defiant from DS9 as well. It's small, fast, powerful and stealthy.

Second choice would be the Excalibur from the B5 spin-off Crusade. Gotta love those wave motion...er...main guns and the energy absorbing/reflecting hull.

Well I said the Tiger Claw's, but I am referring to the Wing Commander 1 Tiger's Claw not the movie version.   Other choices I would have picked if they were are:

SDF Macross
White Base from Mobile Suit Gundam
Dogosse Gier Zeta Gundam
TCS Victory Wing Commander 3

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« Reply #13 on: August 18, 2007, 08:25:09 PM »

I picked:

1.) Red Dwarf. No pesky crewmates to worry about, and I've always gotten on well with cats. I'd have to work on the ship's computer, though, and try to get a holograph a bit more attractive than Rimmer.

2.) Heart of Gold. I never really liked petunias all that much, and whales are just so naive...  TeddyR Eh, really, I'd probably get along quite well with Marvin, and who wouldn't want to go wherever it is least probable that they would be able to find on a map? I don't think that last phrase makes very good sense, but 42.

Without giving it too much thought, I went with the U.S.S. Voyager as it is the only ship of all those mentioned that I feel at home in, "Voyager" having been the only "Star Trek" series I watched regularly (though I have seen most episodes if not all of each series).  Voyager, like all the Federation ships, takes a licking and keeps on ticking...I hope the crew comes with it, I even like the annoying ones, but who didn't love 7 of 9?   Smile

My second choice was an Imperial Star Destroyer because it's big, it's bad, and won't the neighbors be impressed?   Lookingup
