Cthulhu for president! Why choose the lesser evil?

« on: August 28, 2007, 05:17:44 AM »

Are they really remaking The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves? As I said elsewhere on this board, what we really need is a robot from Outer Space who'll blow earth to smithereens if we don't stop making these silly remakes.

It appear so (where is that other thread?).  Horrible choice of lead actor, based on everything I have ever seen.  Who should have been Klaatu?  The role has to be played by someone who can be very serious, very professional.

How about the actor who played the platoon commander/company commander in "Band of Brothers?"

Well, there is a small chance that Keanu Reeves will play the robot. He'd be perfect for that. Wink

Why is this happening.

If you'll indulge me this blasphemy...

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I think they could just have a straw scarecrow holding a screaming child and it would be a better choice.  (update: than Reeves, that is)

Rather Keanu than that space cadet/waste of skin Tom Cruise.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I would say what Dan Kretzer did about Alien: Resurrection, however:

Quote from: Dan Kretzer
Screenwriter Joss Whedon is now raking in millions for his "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series, which is evidence enough for me that there really is a Satan.
