And after all of that trouble that I went through with Wally World to get that exclusive bonus disc with the widescreen edition, Universal goes and does this.

Quote
Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Hot Fuzz 3-Disc Collector's Edition on 27th November 2007 priced at $34.98 SRP. Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's much-anticipated follow-up to Shaun Of The Dead stars Pegg as a hard London copper who's assigned to a new beat: the most boring village in Britain. Nick Frost also returns to star alongside Pegg as one of the local village cops.

Following the single-disc Region 1 DVD release in July that was somewhat lacking in comparison to the HD DVD and UK DVD releases, Universal are now issuing a 3-Disc Collector’s Edition that includes all the UK DVD extras and throws in a fifth commentary track and an extended version of the one exclusive extra the old R1 DVD had, the Fuzzball Rally.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Me too.

All my friends who jumped on this right out of the gate can suck it.  Everyone said, "I don't know, dude." When I said I was waiting for a better version.

There was absolutely no mention of this 3 disc set coming down the pike. Edgar Wright was even helping out fans to get the Wal-Mart widescreen 2 disc set as they released this bonus disc set in a 80% to 20% full frame to widescreen ratio.

This is typical bullsh*t on Universal's part. They withhold all of this stuff and put it on the HD release and since hardly anyone has bought into HD or Blu-Ray due to this stupid format war, their sales sucked. So they put out this 3 disc set now to rake in the money they didn't get on the HD release.

YIKES!  Three discs seems like overkill.  I mean, it's a good movie and all, but this seems unnecessary.  Oh well.

I'm taking a guess that the "special guest" is Peter Jackson.
