I've heard a lot about the Slusho/Cloverfield connection.  Well, I was at http://www.slusho.jp/ and read the history of Slusho.  Supposedly, this girl loved mixing different ingredients in drinks and she eventually went off and disappeared.  Well, her son followed her line of work and found a secret ingredient in the bottom of the sea.  He had a dream that he was a little fish and when he drank it he became a huge whale.  The ingredient is found under extreme pressure and cold so he decided to serve it frozen. "You can't drink just six."

With the new trailer, Abrams and co. really appeared to be cutting the bulls**t "mysterious" act by actually naming the movie and being more upfront with the premise. So, I really don't think the "Slusho" website was anything but a red harring, since sources seem to agree that this is about an alien destroying New York and doesn't really have anything to do with the ocean.

While I agree with you there, listen to the scream the creature lets out in the trailer.  There is certainly a tinge of "whale" sound in the scream.  I think the creatures will have some type of whale characteristics.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

That Slusho.jp website is part of the Cloverfield alternate reality game.  It's promotion but ultimately won't have much to do with the movie.  It's sort of like the whole AI thing and the Halo 2 I Love Bees game.
