I am a habitual drooler though and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Me too. I'm only allowed to sleep with my own pillow, and I have to replace it once in a while. I'm not sure, but I think my beard might actually assist in wicking the drool out if I happen to get some between my lips while sleeping. I suppose I could shave it and see, but I don't really like shaving -- except my head, of course.  TeddyR

I do snore, not as loud though (although some people beg to differ).  But, have you guy ever been in the middle of a snoring symphony?  I remember, sleeping in the barracks at Ft. Dix, and a couple of my seargents were in the room with me.  The loudness of their snoring, plus it was like they were in sync with each other.  It was like you can set it to a beat.

Didn't amke any difference for me when I shaved my goatee off. Still drooled! The only difference is that I didn't have crazy bed beard in the morning.
On the subject of snoring, my wife found this nifty gadget she wants to get me. I guees it is some kind of shock collar that gives you a jolt when you snore, and I quote" gently alerts you when snoring with a mild tingle, causing you to change position without waking you up" I don' know about this, but if i had a mild shock to the trachea in the middle of the night, I would probably go thru the celing.

My wife got me some of those adhesive nasal strips with the little spring that holds your airway open. They actually didn't work too badly, but it was was just one more thing added to the bedtime ritual. And for something so simple, they weren't all that cheap. She hasn't complained lately, so I haven't bothered.

I snore really bad, and, like some others on this board, have sleep apnea.  They did a sleep study where I stayed at the hospital overnight with about two dozen wires and stuff attached to my body and they found that I had about EIGHTY-ONE interruptions of sleep (not necessarily waking up, mind you but just anything that interrupted a normal sleep cycle) in that ONE night.

I've been using a CPAP machine for the past year or so.  It's basically like a mask you strap around your head that keeps air blowing through your mouth and nose, making it easier to sleep.  Although I sleep much better now (and no longer snore) I'm still a bit tired during the days.  (Course, there's probably other reasons for that.)

To the fellow who actually says he STOPS BREATHING during sleep, you might want to look into that, as that can be dangerous.

Yep, I snore. In fact have have had sleep apnea in the past and it still occasionally happens now and then, but not as frequently.
