Women in Cellblock 9 (1977) is an ultra-sleazy Swiss "women in prison movie", which is still banned in the UK.

Unlike most of Franco's work, this remains banned in the United Kingdom, due to large amounts of sexual violence, and as one of the lead actresses in many of the sex scenes was 16 at the time the film was made.

Has anyone seen this film?

If the actress was only 16, shouldn't the film be banned as child pornography?

Haven't seen/heard about it before.  Brooke Shields was about 12 when she did Pretty Baby, so there is at least some leeway about using underage actresses in nude scenes.

I can't believe these people get away with this.

16 years of age in other countries isn't necessarily under age. I'm not sure exactly what was shown in this instance, nor do I know anything about Swedish age limits, but that's one way in which film can tell us about the world we live in. It takes us to places in the physically world and psychologically world that you really wouldn't want to witness nor be a part of in real life. Film can also take us to places that don't really exist.
