Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's OK, glad they got away from that 'community ammo' BS they used in the second game, but there aren't multiple ammo types for weapons like in the first. Seems to be a really long game though.

Also, Borderlands, of course.

I've been playing Naughty Bear which is surprisingly addictive (doing away with cute teddy bears who all think they're so much better than you) and The Saboteur which is kind of like a GTA game expect set in Nazi occupied France and you get to play the good guy trying to fight the Nazis (it's a pretty fun game too). Also tried Bayonetta and while the game play pace is faster than I'm used to, it was fun too from what I played of it so far.

Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime

Been going through some old games before the next college term arrives.  I've been playing the game for a while and about half way through it.

Finally caved and bought a used PS2 so I could experience some classic Sony games for myself. Been playing "Shadow of the Colossus" for a bit since it's what I bought along with the system ($80 for the whole console, game, controller and memory card package? Not bad, I think.)

Shadow of the Colossus is a stupendous game.

It's actually coming out in a remastered version for the PS3, along with Ico, sometime later this month. I'm looking forward to playing it again.

Congrat's on the PS2 purchase Gravekeeper!  Soooo many great games for that system it's unbelievable.  I think my all time favorite was Drakan: The Ancients Gates.  Played through it about 6 times at least, and it's a LONG game.  If you're interested in racing games, Gran Turismo 4 is about as good as it gets.  Then there's Resident Evil 4 if you like a bit of horror, Metal Gear Solid 3:  Snake Eater for a good action/adventure/shooter, Final Fantasy XII for some RPG fun...the list is pretty much endless   TeddyR

I'm looking forward to the remastered versions of Silent Hill 2 & 3 for the PS3.  I'm a huge horror fan but for some reason never got around to playing either of those, so to experience them for the first time in HD -  TeddyR

But for today, Dead Island will be arriving this afternoon!   Thumbup  From what I've been reading it sounds like it won't disappoint.  The reviewer at Destructoid proclaimed it to be "F***ing fun!"

Borderlands is awesome!!!

I was one of the guys who waited for it to go down in price, and wound up getting the GOTY Edition with all the extra content.  And naturally, the first guy I'm using is the Soldier Guy (gotta' play with all the guns first,  Wink)

Prior to that, it took me about 2 months to finally beat Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow but let me tell you man, what a game that was!  Voice acting by Patrick Stewart and Michael Dorn as well! And the story was very good too. Play it if you can  Thumbup

Sounds like I should pick up Borderlands as keep seeing it being marked down in price at Wally World. I've gone back to playing RED DEAD REDEMPTION which I could probably play forever and not get tired of it.

I finally sat down and played through Batman: Arkham Asylum, which I put off for no reasons I can fathom. Fantastic game, it is great to play a game made by people who truly understand the character. I love the fact that game is peppered with insides to the entire Batman mythos. This Batman lives in the entire continuity. I also love that they got Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill to reprise their roles, as well as some other quality voice actors.

I also need to stop playing games on their hardest difficulty level. Playing on the medium difficulty level, you really feel like Batman, kicking ass and not bothering to take names (Why would you? You're Batman.). Playing on hard you feel like a retarded chimp who can be killed by any random schmo.

Then again, I don't do things because they are easy, I do them because they are hard.

I also got some way through 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. It's a DS title, and it isn't really a game, more of a "interactive novel." The story is interesting, but the characters and dialogue are garbage. There are six endings to the game. My first play-through netted me one of the bad endings. I'm playing through again just so I can see what was actually going on. I can't really recommend it, unless you are a fan of these sorts of games. "These games" being a peculiar subset of Japanese games that are most commonly found in hentai stroke-fests.

Eh, it's not terrible, just not the sort of game I'm looking for.

I am also playing through Deus Ex: Human Revolution.  I'm enjoying it - it definitely gets more fun as it goes, much like the first game, when you get better augs.

Also, I FINALLY started playing Pier Solar.  For those not in the know, it's a Genesis RPG that came out at the very very end of 2010.  Yeah, a new one, made on new cartridges.  Pretty spiffy I think.  I pre-ordered it like two years before it came out for $35 shipped.  Too bad I didn't buy like 5 of them.  They're going for $150-$200 on eBay already.  Not going to sell it though.  Mine is 533/800 (they made 2400 of the initial batches, 800 in each region).

Anyway, the game is actually a quite solid traditional J-RPG.  It gets bonus points for doing the dialogue similar to how Shining Force did (with variable portraits who move when talking), which adds a lot of character.  There's also a significant amount of fairly well-written dialogue.  Only downside is random battles, which I've always disliked.  The encounter rate I would describe as moderate to moderately high.  Still fun though, and a great collector's item for a Genesis fan like me.

Currently obsessing over Deus Ex Human Revolution.  It's fun, but has a few glitches everynow and then.  Love the story but it's nowhere near as complicated as I was expecting.  The story is pretty much awesome, though fairly predictable.

Small | Large

That above video is a teaser video based on Deus Ex Human Revolution [it doesn't have anything to do with the game other than the plot elements] and I would love for someone to make a movie based off this trailer as it blows my mind grapes.  Pretty cool.

Been playing Dead Island for the last two evenings.  Pretty fun game.  A tropical island paradise, except for those darned zombies   TeddyR  Big open world, tons of sidequests - must have picked up 10 of them in 5 minutes last night, that should keep me busy for a while.  I was driving around in a pickup running over the undead;  got 50 of them so far.  There's tons of different weapons you can pick up, and they degrade with use, so there's benches where you can repair, upgrade or fashion new weapons.  There's also money and various items you can pick up all over the place.  Weapons repairs and upgrades cost money.  I especially enjoy the cutting weapons as you can chop off limbs.  Kicking is a very useful skill as well, especially for when several zombies come after you simultaneously.  There are also guns (I haven't got one yet), and you can throw weapons too.  Once I get farther into it I think combat will become a lot more varied and fun.

Only complaint is that some stuff just isn't explained very well at all - like the weapons menu.  There's three rows that you can put weapons in...I have no idea what that's for.  And last night I tried to pick up an item, but I guess my inventory was full, so for some reason it dropped my prized meat cleaver (which I'd just spent a good bit of money upgrading) so I could pick the other item up.  Then my cleaver completely disappeared from the game.  WTF?  Oh well.

I'll second that recommendation.

Also, roleplaying and survival horror titles are strong on the system.  It would be good to play some of the out their titles also.  There were quite a few that got bogged down in between other titles you can't find some.  If you are looking for Shadow of the Colossus, Ico as mentioned earlier should also be entertaining.  You may also want to try Viewtiful Joe, Kingdom Hearts, Silent Hill 2, Fatal Frame Series, Siren, Beyond Good and Evil, Jak and Daxter, Devil May Cry and God of War.  Don't which you like but that should be a good start.
