I really don't care much for manga nor do I care for anime. I am, however, a pretty big fan of Sonny Chiba and I'll watch anything starring that guy from this period of his career. That is to say, Chiba portraying a total psychopath who we're supposed to somehow embrace as the hero of the story. For perfectly legitimate reasons, the first time I saw The Street Fighter, I was under the impression that Terry Tsurugi would be a traditional hero archetype but by the time he's throwing dudes out the window and selling their sisters into prostitution, my head was spinning. I eventually wrapped my arms around the madness and rode it infamy. I was expecting the same kind of bat-s**t crazy anti-hero character in Golgo 13, which I'm a little bit familiar with and while Chiba certainly is a villain in the typical sense as Golgo 13, it's not quite as out there and doesn't ask much of you to somehow root for the bad guy in a movie full of bad guys.
