Most disliked films

After some careful pondering, I decided to remove Pretty in Pink as a disliked film.  Let me put it this way.  I don't dislike the film, but I don't like it either.  It's kinda of the middle for me.

I saw Titanic for the first time not too long ago, and I really enjoyed it.  I don't quite understand why it was such a phenomenon, but I don't see why some hate it so much either.

Anyways, I loathe the Mike Myers version of The Cat in the Hat with all of my being.  I'm pretty sure that snuff films would be more tolerable.

I think "the 13th Warrior" is great, but it takes several viewings to appreciate it, it just moves too fast. Rumor says they cut between 15 and 45 minutes of McTiernan's final cut, which explains for instance why Omar Shariff disappears so abruply.

A bad film that hasn't been named yet... alright, got a couple here:

- Sliver: Yes, Sharon Stone was very sexy, but I can't believe the film was so booooooooooooring. That guy is the murderer? So what.

- Hostel: What a piece of crap! And this passes for horror? It's just some silly gore here and there, the rest is so boring it should go to the deleted scenes section of the DVD.

Street Fighter: Even in a time now when Uwe Boll is launching crappy video game movies right and left, this adaptation still stands out as the worst, in my opinion. 

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation:  The First MK film itself was pretty crappy, and doesn't hold up well over time...but it still has its charm, thanks to the sets, costume design, and Christopher Lambert's presence.  This one, however, is just pure crap all around.  Characters are introduced, and disposed of within five minutes, and the acting among the principal characters is simply horrendous. 

Anything starring Jean Claude Van Damme is automatic garbage.  Bloodsport was his only good film, and it really has more to do with camp value and unintentional humor than it does with his "performance". 

Bean: Mr. Bean is a character that works better in terms of short skits, and half hour shows.  You just can't stretch his kind of odd humor into a feature-length film.  The lame supporting cast doesn't help things much either.

Air America.  Turned it off mid way through.  I'd rather rewatch a Polonia Bros. film.
Prospero's Book.  Utterly incomprehensible, and with a naked old John Geilgud. I'd rather rewatch two Polonia Bros. films.

Air America sucks. I remember watching it several times as a teenager without being able to make any sense of it. If there's any picture (outside B movies and porn) as disjointed as this one, I have yet to see it. Every scene seems to come from a whole different movie.

Super Mario Bros.- From what people tell me this is pretty crappy.  I feel that way too.  But it still doesn't dissuade me from watching it when it's on tv.

Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie- The second Power Ranger flick.  I have the dvd, but even as a fan, its' eh.

Showgirls- Why bother?

Street Fighter is bad, but it just has some appeal to it.  I loved the 1st Mortal Kombt movie, the second one is utter trash.  I was thinking about writing an article explaining why it's so bad, and what could have made it better.

Van Damme was decent in Kickboxer and he was good in Bloodsport, other than that I can't stand him.  Nothing like a "FAKE CHAMPION" making kcikboxing movies.

These movies all suck-I know some of you may like them...but...here goes:
.the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW- What? What is the big deal with this movie that makes it a 'cult' classic? It's got Broadway type music-EEECHHH!!! It has trans-sexuals-Gee-that may have been shocking and over the top for Mainstream USA...but in 2007? It's dumb-and dull. My belief it was made a 'cult' favorite by "hipsters" in the seventies...as it was shocking then. But for me-it's just STUPID...and I have been subjected to it sooo many times by people who know I like unusual movies-"OH!You'll LOVE this video-it's right up your ally!" And they plug in this crap! NOOOOOOOOO! I F$CKING HATE THIS MOVIE!!!
.ARMEGEDDON-Why did a major motion picture company  pay millions of dollars for this boring piece 'o' s**t space opera to be made?!?! I just found it ridicouls and stupid. If I wanna see stupid space opera...I'll stick to unpretenious B-Movies. At least they are enjoyable.

Completely agree on ARMAGEDDON. Completely disagree on ROCKY HORROR but hey that's how it goes.

I loathe Adam Sandler's movies. Not a huge fan of Will Ferrell either but he's slightly more tolerable.

BOOGIE NIGHTS. Never got what the big fuss was about with this movie. I found it an utter bore. Also feel that way about NATURAL BORN KILLERS and INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE put me to sleep.

 Totally agree with NATURAL BORN KILLERS-(Whatta mess! Stone used every dumb MTV trick in the book...and I HATE MTV!) and INTERVIEW with the VAMPIRE-(boring drival.)

I posted on this before (in the last "Movies I Hate" type of thread). Here's what I had to say then (this is likely not the same reason others dislike this movie):
Another popular movie (okay, not so much on this board, but in general) I actively dislike is Titanic. I don't mind that it's a "chick flick"; I like quite a few of those. I dislike it because, underneath all the Titanic scenery and folklore, the movie is about a one night stand. Rose has a fling with Jack, who subsequently dies. She then marries a man who encourages her free spirit and helps her develop into a strong, fully realized woman. His total screen time for this lifetime of devotion is a pan across some photos as Rose nears the site of the wreck, where she joyfully rejoins her frozen lover to dance forever aboard the ghost-Titanic. She's a pretty lousy character in my opinion, but then I probably picked up on this angle more because I am more like that stolid, encouraging husband than like the footloose Jack. Also, I dislike it because it would have been a major flop if it had been set anywhere but on the Titanic; the storyline is a sketchy cliche.

I'm with RCMerchant on Rocky Horror Picture Show. I don't mind Broadway showtunes, but the movie was just boring to me. Granted, I rented it and watched it alone, so I didn't get the "event" of a theater showing, but the movie is just bleh.

The Blair Witch Project. I expected creepy fun. I rented it, turned out all the lights to watch it late at night, and was bored silly. I guess I was expecting too much, listening to the hype. One of the main things that bugs me is that it's not even about a witch in the end, but a serial killer of some sort. Huh?
