Here is a link to a wonderful musical tribute to our World War II veterans, who are rapidly fading from the scene.  Take the time to thank them today!!

Nice.

And a happy Veterans Day (and big thanks) to Andrew and all the other vets around these parts.

Being so close to Canada, I get to see Canadian TV & hear their radio.  They definitely take Remembrance Day (as they call it) much more seriously than we do here in the US.

Indiana...you're an ass.
Not for the link.  That's cool as hell.  Thumbup
You're an ass because I just recently lost my grand father who was a WWII veteran and who I miss terribly, and now I'm sitting on my couch bawling my friggin eyes out.
I propose a toast to all vets, past and present and future.
Let us remember what the vets of the past did, learn from what todays vets are doing, and hope like hell that tomorrows will never have to experience it.
 Cheers

p.s.  Just kidding about the whole you being an ass thing.

When I posted this on Veteran's Day, I also sent the link to all the vets on my Email list.  One of them was my wife's Uncle Joe, a World War II B-24 pilot and holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross.  Joe Emails me frequently, and I knew he'd seen the video, but I wanted to share it again anyway.  Joe spent that Monday with his grandson, eating out and telling his war stories and enjoying visiting with the family.  Tuesday afternoon he walked to his post box to get the mail and fell over dead of a massive heart attack at age 90.  We laid him to rest this afternoon, and last night before the funeral I watched the "Before You Go" video with my kids.  The Greatest Generation is quickly passing away, and we shall not look upon their like again.  If you know any of them, hug them one more time while you have the chance . . . . and say "Thanks."

As for Uncle Joe . . .

Mission accomplished.  Return to base.  And thanks for a job well done.

My sincerest, most heartfelt condolences on your loss.
I agree with your sentiment and and only hope that my children may some day grow up to be half the men that my grand father was.  I know I fell short of that mark myself.
