So lovely lads and lasses, it's time to bid you all a fond farewell for the next three weeks as I troop off to Mexico and Cuba.  Flying out tomorrow morning and landing an hour before I left.  Time travel is fun!

Loads of fun! Yippee!

I'm getting some pre-flight jitters, but otherwise, I'm looking forward to my first holiday in 2 years.

So yes, if I don't check in in about three weeks, someone head south and look for me: I'll either be in some serious trouble, or having such a good time, that time itself doesn't matter to me anymore.  Either way I'll probably need a slap to the head...

Try not to talk about Trevor's underpants too much while I'm gone: you'll make them blush...

BounceGiggle BounceGiggle BounceGiggle Karma, Dean. I still haven't found them yet, they must be hiding somewhere.  Smile

Go well, enjoy the break.

When are you coming to South Africa? Mexico and Cuba are great, South Africa is better.

Have a good one, my friend!  Drink TeddyR

Hey, enjoy that vacation down there, just keep your wits about you.

What little wits I had left me when I started enjoying Glitter, Pearl Harbour and Gigli...

On a side note, from where I am, Mexico is UP!

Woot!   Thumbup

Some day I'd like to visit Mexico Proper.  I've lived in Arizona for 10 years or so, but I've never been deeper than the border towns.

Have fun!

Have fun and be safe!
Remember what we discussed about Mexican jails in that old thread you wrote?
You definitely don't wanna end up in one of those.

And Cheeze is right...
Don't drink the water!
That is unless you like sitting on the toilet for days at a time with horrible diarrhea accompanied by extended sessions of wretching and puking your guts out.
You don't want to end up "praying to the porcelain god" because you drank bacteria and microbe filled Mexican water.

And don't go getting an STD either.
I know those Mexican whores are tempting....but don't.   Wink

Dean, hope you have a great trip and besides the sites mentioned in your previous post I hope you also get to hear some Mariachi Bands and see some Flamenco dancers.

Just thought I'd pop in with a quick hello.

Mexico City is fantastic, not as polluted as I thought, and our first morning here there were demonstrations in the main Zolaco [square] where many thousands of people flooded for protests/words of support to the government etc.

The food here is also fantastic as are the sights: we have been quite busy and have only had two days here so far.

Only trouble so far has been a brief loss of luggage [it was delayed and had to arrive the morning after we arrived] but otherwise so far so good.

Something worth mentioning is that it took us about 25 hours all up to fly in.  We left Melbourne at 11:30 on the 17th and arrived in LA via Auckland at 10:30 the morning we left...  But it's very much worth it, just for the lovely people and interesting sights.  We shall see how the rest of the trip goes!  Cheers  TeddyR

Told you the food was great ... nothing like the real stuff. About the only thing I miss about Mexico is the food and the booze. Good to hear the pollution is cleared some it is fall there, summer time it's really bad. A lovely yellow/orangy haze everywhere.
