CHUD reported some script details about the upcoming Michael Bay produced Friday the 13th remake and I'm left wondering how this is a remake at all?  Technically, it could qualify as a reboot but I still have my doubts.

But there weren't supernatural aspects until part 6! How does Jason build and properly use a maze of tunnels? Buggedout

Damn...I kinda liked the non-explanation of the Voorhees Unreality Teleportation...why do they always feel they need to explain everything?

Well, on the plus side, I like that they're gonna rehash parts 1-4 basically.  We'll see I suppose.  Sounds like it's early enough that a lot of changes can take place between now and release date.

I'm on the fence on this one. Normally, I'm in the camp that re-makes are guilty until proven innocent. Like with Dawn of the Dead, I hated the idea of re-treading the classic. But when I actually saw the movie, meh, I didn't hate it. Still preferred the original, but the remake was OK.

Getting back to Jason, I'm not crazy about the idea of tunnels or needing to make him firmly human. Yet, I'm not going to rap on it just yet. The last few Friday's have been more the classic days of cinema with Jason goes to New York, Space, Hell, I was expecting Jason to meet the wolfman in an Abbot and Costello type movie. If they can give us a movie with "Classic Jason" it might be fun. Getting back to the tunnels, if Jason exploited old mining tunnels that already existed I could live with that. If he dug them, that's kinda dumb. According to canon he was a kid when he "drowned". They're totally going to have to ret-con the whole origin of Jason because a dead boy jumping out of a lake isn't something that a normal human can do.

Eh, we'll see.

Since when does this

figured out how to make an interconnective series of tunnels like the Viet-Cong?  (quick Austin Powers 2 reference there.  TeddyR )

A face only a mother can love... err scratch that.

(Methinks Jason's mug ought to be posted in the funny caption forum.)
