I'm going to be out of town all Thanksgiving week in Charleston, SC visiting with my mom and her husband. Both of my sisters and their families will be down there as well.  I'm still unmarried with no kids so it'll just be me driving down there by myself to meet up with everybody.   TongueOut

I probably won't be posting all that much next week if any at all but I'll try to stop in and say hi at some point.

We're going to have a huge meal and my 2nd oldest sister's husband is going to deep fry a turkey in his new deep fryer this year. I've never had a turkey cooked that way but I've heard it's delicious.  Hopefully he won't burn my mom's house down.   Cheers

Anyway, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and hopefully everyone will be able to get together with their families, friends and relatives!  I'll be back here in full force in about a little over a week.

Can be fiery... really great though.  Maybe he'll fry it outside, and man is it good.  Happy Day my friend.
 Cheers

Torgo,

Once you have turkey that's been cooked in a deep fryer, you'll never want it any other way again.
It's that good!   Thumbup

It has a more moist and tender quality to it than oven or roaster cooked turkeys.
Don't get me wrong, oven cooked turkeys taste good.
But deep fried turkey is out of this world!

And I'd also recommend that the deep fryer be moved outside when in use.
(assuming weather permits)
When we cooked ours, we did it outside.

Part of the fun of deep frying it outside is just standing around the fryer drinking a beer and shootin' the s**t with your relatives while it cooks.  Smile

Indeed, everyone enjoy your Thanksgiving dinners and the leftovers that follow.  Turkey salad is my all time favorite.

Reminds me of a bbq-party I was at a couple of years ago. It was on some holiday, so shops were closed and no chance for me to buy any food to bring. I finally got one of my parents chicken freshly butchered. I brought it along to the party, had a can of beer, drank about the top third, poked some holes in it (along the top third of the cat), put lots of spices in there, stuck the can in the chicken's.. well...rear....., wrapped it all in tinfoil, and sat it on the grill for about 2.5 hours.

What can I say, it was actually one of the best I ever had. But I took probably some comfort of the feeling of having managed something with not so little at hand....this, and I didn't stop at one third of a can of beer.

I like Thanksgiving...next to Halloween it's my favorite Holiday. No running around spending money. Just eat...slump on the coach...and watch cheezy movies! (Not a big football fan.) Mebbe I'll watch BLOODFREAK! That would be appropriate!

have a good one. Always wanted to try the deep fried turkey - a coworker does it every year too and says it's pretty much like fried chicken. But then again any of you who know about the State Fair of Texas know that we are infamous for deep frying everything. Fried coke, fried guacamole, fried ice cream, fried twinkies, basically anything dipped in oil

I'll have 6 days off of work, lots of food and don't plan on driving anywhere. yeehaw

Dinner and a movie for me.

I'll have dinner at Luby's Cafeteria, then I'll go see a movie. This year, most likely, it'll be "Enchanted."
