I have these vague, very vague, memories of something I saw bits of on TV years ago, when I was about four or maybe five, before I started school definately, which had some kid with a sort of connection with some manner of creature under his (could have been her) bed, something I do remember had a huge, toothsome mouth, and there were definately scenes of the kid feeding the creature random stuff from bin bags, and it having some manner of ramage in a small, subarban home at the end.  I also think that one of the heroes was this one kid with this He-Man-ish action figure he talked to, and the last shot was one of the monster keeping kid saying something in a weird voice and skipping away as the credits rolled.  No idea if this is a real movie, or just a confused memory of a cheese dream I once had, but if anyone has any ideas...

I definitely think this one was real, it had a teenage character who wanted to be a special effects artist like some guru of his, and he gets to work with him after he shows this SFX guy the puppet legs he made, so he gets a job at the workshop, and it turns out the huge animatronic dragon they've got there is alive.  Anyone know that one?

Well, for the first one, "Under the Bed" perhaps?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0253864/

The second sounds a lot like a search that was recently solved:
