I've always been a huge fan of turkey salad sandwiches.  I find grinding it up using a manual grinder rather than a food processor yields the best consistency.  What is everyone else's favorite leftover meal whether it be simply eating what you had T-Day or something elaborate?

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I love to make cold turkey sandwiches (turkey, mayo, lettuce, maybe another addition or two) and we also make turkey tetrazzini.

See...RC knows what's good!
The bread & gravy with leftover turkey meal is the bomb!

Or sometimes I'll just throw the turkey on a plate, sprinkle a tiny bit of water on to moisten it and nuke it for 60 seconds.
The only bad thing about doing it that way is that the turkey likes to pop in the microwave.
Last year when I did that, it popped so loud it made me jump!

My mom gave me about 3 lbs. worth of leftover turkey today.  She also threw in 6 dinner rolls, a big container of lumpy homemade mashed potatoes and 3 cans of Mt. Dew.
It'll all be gone in a day or two.   Twirling

When I was a little kid,my dad used to make bread and gravy...me and my brothers would sing about it-in exaggerated hillbilly voices we would holler-"BREAD AND GRAVY! BREAAAAAAAAD and GRAVY BREADNADGRAVY! BREAD AND GRAAAAAAVYEEEEEEE!" and dance around like morons  at a hoe-down. Twirling

It's still what I crave, turkey sh*t on a shingle... The first use I thought of was what my family did for many years: cold turkey on top of a slice of white bread and hot gravy poured on top.  Fine eatin' for an 8 year old!  Well, I don't eat white bread anymore, but I still love turkey with hot gravy!  Bela:  Thumbup

I do not agree regarding microwaving... of any meat... yee-ucchh!  There are much better ways of reheating meat, particularly poultry.   Your meat is popping because it is subjected to preternatural forces 'twas never meant to suffer.  Trust me, Ash, you can do better on turkey re-heat !!  Wink

I hate leftovers of any kind. I refuse to touch them. TeddyR
I went to friends today, had a great time but took no leftovers, though I made the turnips, mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy... (I'm with Shadow but only to the point of other people's leftovers, I will eat my own leftovers if treated properly.)  Poultry can be a delicate subject and does get smelly right quick if not properly handled and stored, consumed, and discarded.   No freezing...unless as party to some pie, we're  back to yee-uucchh!!!

TeddyR These turkey leftovers are making me hungry.  Wink

This reminds me of the Stephen King book Danse Macabre where he explained what happened after a Thanksgiving get-together and his wife Tabitha had prepared turkeys, many many of them. For days afterwards everything they ate had some sort or part of a turkey in it.

After the seventh time of just eating something and turkey, his son Joe screamed at the dinner table: "Do we have to eat this s--t again?"  King's response was two-fold: he wasn't sure if he should laugh or discipline his son so he did both.  Buggedout

My kid is heating up turkey right now...I think I'm going to eat again...!
We had turkey,stuffing,taters,gravy veggies and 3 kinds of pie:2 Pumpkin,1 apple,1 sweet potato,and 1 pecan(my favorite!) .

After the kids went to sleep,I watched a double feature-MANSON-(real psychos) and DON'T LOOK in the BASEMENT (movie psychos). I drank Root Beer and smoked ciggerettes. A good day!

Bela, you really love that DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT don't you?  I suppose I understand why... I remember that film was broadcast on late night TV in New York (I thought it was channel 9, but I'm apparently wrong since "Chiller" was on WPIX -channel 11-as I recently learned...)   Bluesad  The brain is fried.  But DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT is still dumb!   TeddyR  It is fun, though!   Smile
