One reason I dislike found footage as a concept is, frankly, bad found footage can be as bad as bad could get.

For example Hollow, in which "scary" meant "have someone scream, but when the cameraman turns to see what they're screaming at, its gone".

The Inside is worse. Basically, some girls get attacked by vagrants and a supernatural force.

The three main segments-

Girls talk about embarrassing stuff that usually gets interrupted before we can hear how it ended, or someone laughs over the dialogue.

Vagants appear. Much screaming and stuff and we understandably don't get to see anything clearly.

I don't care for rape scenes, there isn't even any shock value anymore, and when filmmakers include them they give the impression they're "taking risks" without actually taking any risks, because rape was depicted onscreen decades ago. Apparently these guys were impressed by their own "edginess" to the point that they don't bother showing it onscreen - even though the vagrants take the camera and to record themselves commiting it.

Apparently these depraved people were satisfied just recording the heads of the girl and vagrant involved in any given rape...

Don't forget, because of the "state of panic", throughout this segment, you barely see anything coherant - not just during the rape scenes, during the entire segment.

And then, finally, supernatural forces get unleashed, and people panic some more!

And guess what? They provide an amazingly accurate example of people panicking and trying to escape - in the sense that anyone with a camera wouldn't be focusing it on anything.

Yeah - the camerawork gets even more incoherent! Sometimes, it shows some evil creature staring over someone's shoulder right behind them, and then they're dead. One time, someone's throat was clearly cut, otherwise, again you don't see, well, anything... again!

And then... something happens. One girl escaped. Now, given the visual and audio elements of the film are barely coherent, you'd think that's enough, right?

No.

Some guy found the camera at a pawn shop and tracks down this location, where more nothing occurs, only now it is not found footage, meaning you could actually see stuff, but you'd probably be bored senseless. And no, the stuff you finally doesn't amount to anything.
