I'm sure some of you have been to thesmokinggun.com to check out their rider lists for entertainers.  For those of you unfamiliar, a rider list is a list given to promoters for a performer (musical, comedian, etc) describing exactly what they want before they play the show.  Some have simple ones, most are outrageous.

That's for sure. The one thing that worried me was their request for an oxygen mask and a doctor to be on call 24/7.  Buggedout

Nice to see my favourite group, The Moody Blues, there, but their rider request for so-called "clean ice" cracked me up.  BounceGiggle BounceGiggle

I don't think Dusty Hill is in such good shape these days.  Hell, they're all older than dirt!  They weren't young back in '83 when Eliminator came out.

The KISS one was disappointly reasonable.  Just telling what they needed.  The catering demands weren't even very out there.

Some of those are pretty funny.  50 cent wants breakfast and lunch for 45 people and dinner for 75.  Then there's the hospitality room which is about as much as other groups ask for in total.  Plus a 12 pack of Red Bull, a case of Heineken (in bottles), 2 bottles of Hennesy (700 ml) and a box of Cuban cigars (montecristo).  And a bucket of fried chicken  TeddyR

I've often wondered: do these people and their crews use, eat and drink everything they ask for? If they don't, it is one heck of a waste to give these things to them, I feel.  Question

If I were famous, my rider would be:

1 pair of underpants before the show.
4 pairs during the show in case I get stage fright
1 cloth to clean my face and 1 cloth to clean on another place [NB: please label these and indicate the place I should use them on!!!!  Buggedout]
I will require any panties thrown at me to be collected, along with the people who threw them at me. If there were any guys wearing panties who threw them at me, ignore them please.  TeddyR

I wonder what percentage of stuff asked for is actually used.  The Christina Aguleira one is mind blowing.  How can a 125lb girl (or less) eat so damn much crap?

In fair defense, most of the rider lists are made to keep artists safe.  Van Halen had people do the green M&M separating thing to make sure they promoters were reading it thoroughly.

My rider list would be health concious with fat free snacks/candy.  The beverages, I'd have to have water, gatorade, coffee and a 6 pack of beer.  I'd need a private shower and bathroom with a plentifuly supply of towels.  I'm sure theres more I'd add.   TeddyR

30 piece sushi combination, served on a naked Japanese girl
2 naked Japanese girls to feed it to me

This all started originally as a way of making sure that everything was right stage/performance-wise. If event staff didn't meet the artists needs and complete the rider lists accurately, then that would mean they might screw up when it comes to their duties involving equipment and security.

My rider would be;

1. Dressing room must contain at least 1 plastic pink flamingo.
2. Batch of English traditional bake pasties
3. 1 bottle of Jim Beam
4. 2 female brunettes
5. 1 picture of Don Johnson

Mine would be:

1 dozen Bosten Cream Donuts.
1 pound of Pepperjack cheese.
2 wrestling midgets
1 Rolex watch
1 Armani suit
1 limo with as many women that you pack in there, (prefferably ones who like donuts, cheese, and wrestling midgets)

I think I'd request one box each of Runts, Bottle Caps and a bunch of Welch's Fruit Snacks.  For snacks, fat free wheat thins, pretzles and torilla chips with FRESH salsa. I hate the jarred crap.

For an oddity, I'd request an array of Russian erotica and a copy of Scarlett Fry.
