Hi, I am very new to this site. I spent most of last night searching this forum but I couldn't find an answer for my question. Someone please help me.I'm sorry that I can vaguely remember great details but the more that I think about it, the more I remember.

It was a movie from the mid to late 80's. It was about some type of aliens that started posessing people. It was starring a little boy and his family. I know that he had a grandfather that was grumpy I recall. Later in the movie, I know the grandfather ended up getting possessed and I think I remember something about a talking headless body.

The movie took place in the boys basement. The movie had slime in it. It may have actually been some other dimension of creatures entering into their basement. I know that I remember hearing the grandfather say the word "goddamn" (not sure what else was followed by it) because I was stunned that the local tv station could air that word. It came on Channel 50 (in Chicago) one day but it wasn't just on tv.

Lastly I remember a couch in the movie, and possibly bubbling/smoky basement.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can solve this.

Welcome aboard!

Did the little boy and the gramps run around with Thompson submachine guns and WWII helmets on?  A possible title is "Terrorvision."  A review:
