Jessica Simpson can't act to save her life but she's hot as long as she doesn't smile. Then she turns into a Fembot and it creeps me out a bit.

Gary Marshall's original evil and dangerous fairy tale delusion about the fun and exciting world of professional mattressbacks hasn't done enough damage?

So now we get another version with a bad actress who will look more like what most guys look for in a hooker, but who will still come off as a big tease with a heart of gold. Who they gonna get for the Richard gere role, Josh Hartnett? Paul Walker? The Rock? Or since he's supposed to be a little older, Patrick Dempesy?

How about a version with all the other fun stuff that's a part of turning tricks: STDs, arrests, pimps, beatings, drug addiction, ugly johns, acting out bizarre and sick fantasies and fetishes, paying off crooked cops (money not always required), unwanted pregnancies, quickie abortions, broken families, runaway teenage girls, humiliation, degradation, scorn, the bottom rungs of the porn ladder, on and on and on.

I know it's just a movie, but the first one always annoyed me for being such a sugercoated fantasy. Think Simpson's character will be seen sleeping with anyone other than the male lead?

i heartily agree,the sugarcoating is disgusting,i knew working girls in the combat zone,they would come into my joke shop to warm up in the winter.NONE of them had good lives,and only one is still alive 25 years later.she was lucky,she went to jail for 2 years and got her life together with alot of help,she runs a ashelter now...

Pretty Woman was kind of stupid to begin with -- a streetwalker tames a corporate raider into being a shipbuilder. Yeah. That happens all of no times.

PRETTY WOMAN is one of my wife's favorite movies. So, we get to watch it from time to time.

Now, before I get BLASTED on this...keep in mind this is the same lady who digs PLEDGE NIGHT (and bought me a copy for our tenth anniversary) and all manners of horror flicks.

I write this one up to Scott's predilection for GIGLI. You just cannot explain how movies will grab some folks....

ulthar,if she likes horror movies,she's cool!my husband has a thing for REALLY depressing movies,different strokes for different folks,i guess! me,i love"children's"movies,he puts up with those,i put up with"night mother",it works..
WE did nothing to deserve this,except pay to see the crap that's coming out now...well,not US,per se...the folks here don's seem to disagree with my hatred of remakes very often!
