Well I had a bunch of little rascals here today and as kids go they weren't bad but they weren't going to get along as on what to watch, what to play, what to do. Some wanted Mario, others Sonic and I wasn't going to listen to it.

So I did what any good dictator would do, I told them "Fine I'll find something for you to watch. So I get out my complete DVD collection of the "The Little Rascals" the old one. So after a round of "oh man these are black and white and I don't like this etc etc." I said just watch it or watch nothing. So after a one episode I heard giggling, then laughing, then howling laughing and with exception of asking me what a few old things were like seltzer bottles and castor oil all I heard was laughter lots and lots and lots of it.

I hadn't watch them in years myself and soon found myself right there, piled up being worthless watching the Little Rascals and laughing like a kid. I think I have them all and we have 5 disc down and quite a few to go, going to be long night if we try to watch them all, which I doubt we will, there is always tomorrow.

So anyone else a Little Rascals fan?

Yeah, I caught some of the Rascals on TV a while back, and it hasn`t lost anything since I was a kid. If anything, it`s funnier. The humour has a quality that transcends generations. I grew up on it in the 70s and 80s, when it was already decades old and bore little resemblance to the time and place I lived in, and it was extremely popular, as were the Stooges and to a slightly lesser extent, Laurel and Hardy.

During the last few weeks, I`ve started taking a peek at the old Rascals shorts on YouTube. That was where I picked up my new avatar - the radio engineer who kept getting his hat blown off. The International Silver String Submarine Band still cracks me up.

LOL we just watched that one while ago. I have all 220 episode on DVD. One of man favs is the he man women hater club from the "Hearts Are Thumps"

Small | Large

I got a bunch of kids here now wanting to build some of the "inventions" they've seen on the shorts. I think tomorrow I'll put them in the shop and see what they come up with, sure seems like a better use of time than playing video games all day. I might be on to something here.

Major applause!  Thumbup Glad someone is encouraging kids to watch some stuff in black and white and that they discovered that doesn't necessarily mean something unentertaining.

I love Our Gang.

Bout ten years ago, I was in eighth grade, I'd watch old reruns on TBS before school would start.  I'd see them for about 20 minutes, then listen to Howard Stern for a bit, then go to school.  Good stuff.

I was just bemoaning to my wife the other day the fact that I never see any black and white movies on TV anymore, aside from TCM or (rarely these days) AMC. In fact, it seems when I cruise through the channels, aside from the aforementioned channels (and TNT and TBS), I hardly ever see a movie listed that is from before 1980. Thank goodness for home video. After complaining to the wife about the situation, I promptly hauled out some DVD's and had an Abbott and Costello movie marathon.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
