Not a bad show, but it kind of got stuck in no man's land with that title. The Friday the 13th movie fans hated it because they were expecting Jason, while folks on the other side of the fence condemned the show as some kind of violent slasher gorefest based on similar expectations (and not having actually watched it). Really an ill-conceived marketing ploy all around.

One interesting thing. A photographer I worked with years ago was actually in an episode. Civil War reenactment was a hobby of his, and he belonged to a group who occasionally got used as extras in movies and such. He's in the slide of Civil War soldiers in the Eye of Death episode. I saw the episode when it aired, and noted that the guy with the mustache looked a lot like Brian. Later on, I found out it was him. Here's a clip from YouTube. The slide appears about halfway through. Brian is the first clearly visible guy on the right side of the aisle. The guy in front of him is cut off, and he's standing more or less in the middle of the picture holding a rifle.

It's funny, I enjoyed this show well enough but it really should have been right up my alley and I barely remember it.  I caught an episode on SciFi (I refuse to call that channel by its stupid new name) the other day and I was surprised by how much gore they got away with showing on tv back in the day.  I hadn't even remembered that aspect of it.
I'd like to see someone take another crack at this type of show though, some intense, anthology/Twilight Zone styled stuff.  I'm getting a little bored with long story arcs and "reality" tv.

I remember watching this back when it aired around the same time as Freddy's Nightmares.  Also, that hokey War of the Worlds show.  Fox, I believe aired it first.  They were a bit more willing to try things out of nowhere when they started.  I'll have to give it a look sometime.  Haven't seen it recently.

Unfortunately, it looks as though the 'hook' of retrieving cursed objects has been 'taken' by Warehouse Thirteen.  I'm all for a revival of some sort of "intense, anthology/Twilight Zone styled" shows, though!
