In my limited experience, black cats tend to be very friendly and far away from scary despite their association with horror films.

I had a huge grey cat that was mean as hell when I was growing up. Best cat ever, he didn't want messed with, could and would beat up most dogs, never meowed and spent most of it's time killing things. Forget chipmunks and mice, this thing killed snakes, chickens, once a turkey, and on a few occasions peacocks. The only thing I ever saw him get a hold of and not kill was a turtle. He couldn't figure that one out.
