Found out my cousin who vanished off the face of the earth late last year is in southern California now, working as an $8.00 an hour paid protester whose current task is picketing Disneyland. A paid protestor. Man....

Also found out another cousin of mine, this on the other side of the family, faces deportation from Brazil if his Brazilian wife goes through with divorcing him. Why do I find that so funny, I wonder?

The Yahoo finance boards for individual stocks have some of the most insane trolls I've seen anywhere. These are adults, folks.

Is the dome in Prometheus supposed to look like HR Geiger's rendition of The Harkonen Castle?
I haven't been able to get a good look at it.

rev- they were insane during the crash in 08. I remember one at the Lehman brothers board a guy started a topic "help I just punched my grandfather in the face". The comment was "I've lost so much money on this stock that I just punched my grandfather in the face what should I do?" Someone suggested "help him up"

I just finished (I think) a four day debate with an atheist over the historical accuracy of the Gospels.
It was pretty intense.  Neither of us convinced the other of anything, but we each got our positions pretty well articulated
and kept it friendly.

I love a good discussion like that!

I have several friends who are atheists and we can always chat on a civil basis about religion: rational and intelligent conversations without damage resulting.  Smile

Interesting, I never seen a non-atheists really rational. The only point they are able to make is: "you cannot prove me wrong" that is a logical fallacy.
Sure, fortunately usually there is no damage...

In the movie, the monster wants Dr Frankenstein to create a bride for him.  Wouldn't that technically make them brother and sister?  The were both created by the same father

In the 2013 Ninja Turtles cartoon some people have the same problem with the relation between Karai and Leonardo.

Being a non-atheist, I am open to all points of view. Of course, if someone started to 'diss' my country for any reason, then there would be damage.  Smile

That's why I never bother discussing religion or politics on the internet - other than sharpening your debating skills it's pointless.

I always find the alternative points of view fascinating.
Also, a lot of folks have negative stereotypes about Christians that I try to dispel as best I can.

Yup, pretty much. What bothers me is the extrems of both sides...well, any extremes. As in Fred Phelpes and R. Dawkins. They give me severe dispepsia.

I'm sure that Richard Dawkins and I could find common ground somewhere: he is, after all married to Romana (Lalla Ward).  Smile

Lalla Ward? Hate to ask this but...who she?
