Does anyone else hate the term "trending" these days?

Not so much the word it itself but how it is used: I dislike to an extreme the suggestion that if something is deemed to be 'trending' I should be interested in it.

Exactly. And thank you.

I kid you not, in the book Growing Up Duggar, one of the girls said they were not allowed to watch The Andy Griffith Show because it was "unwholesome" to see unmarried Andy kiss his girlfriend, and people on that show often told lies.

Even though I have cleared all the paperwork I need to and after six months in the middle of nowhere I finally get to go home on Friday I am still not allowed to dance around naked to celebrate.

It's been nearly a week since anyone had a random thought?

Today for the first time, I found out someone from my generation is going to be a grandparent. A....grandparent. She's a year-ish younger than I am!!!! We're all too young to be grandparents! Grandparents are cute white-haired folk with bad eyesight, ear hair and saggy boobs---and that's just the men. I am caught off guard, I do admit.

Why would any woman want to wear a shirt that says, "Too dumb for New York, too ugly for LA"?

I don't get it.

How about, "Too polite for New York, not superficial enough for LA"?

Been a long day, but a pretty good one overall.  Went to Hastings this evening.  Got two books, 3 movies, and a T-shirt for $10.
The store is over halfway cleaned out.  It's just so sad . . . all the employees there are my friends, it's the only book/movie store in town, and after Saturday . . . it's gone forever.

That sucks.

Not long ago someone said to me, "I hate white people. They brought diseases to North America that wiped out much of the native populations."

I said, "Yeah, being of European descent I feel the same way about Asians spreading the Black Death among us."

She just stared at me. It's so easy to undermine shallowness in this world.

I hear you man.  Today is the last day ours will be open, went in there yesterday and grabbed some stuff.  They had guys in there taking down shelves and things.  A fellow was putting Previous Rentals in boxes to ship off to another store elsewhere in Missouri (I guess they're staggering out the closings, but how it's determined I don't know.)

 Bluesad

Sadly, I didn't get to know the workers there are that well but they seemed like mostly a friendly bunch and I'm told most of them have other jobs lined up so that's good for them.

It's always hard to see familiar things end.

No thought is ever truly random. Thoughts, like all else, exist as a result of some prior act of causation, tracing back to an uncreated starting point, which can only be "that fat black lesbian in the sky."

(Okay, I am spoon-feeding clues tonight to the show I keep referencing. Really, somebody has to be catching these, right....?)
