A cool moment at my book signing today: An elderly gentleman bought a copy of THE GNOSTIC LIBRARY and I tucked one of my new brochures into it (they contain a blurb for each of my five novels, a short bio, and links to my various social media).

An hour later he comes back with his wife and buys ALL FOUR of my other titles!

Last night, after I dozed off, my wife told me I reached over and grabbed her nose and shouted: "Captain, we've found the nipple of the universe!"
She woke me up laughing and asked me about it, and I told her very matter-of-factly that we were trying to find where the Milky Way came from.
I didn't even remember it until she told me this morning.
Musta been a heck of a dream!!

Of all the skills there is, I often wish I was better at dealing with people.  Seems like that's one of the real pillars to success and yet, it's something that's not really taught.  (Heck, some would argue it can't really be taught, just need to have lots of practice and/or have a knack for it.)

At some point, I want to try to build my own PC.  Plenty of people tell me if you can do it-you can make your self a more powerful computer then one you can buy.

.

I can help with this:

You can build a very powerful computer at a relatively low cost if you have a valid copy of windows to put on it.

You will need to start with a good budget motherboard. A gigabyte tomahawk 2 is a good choice.  Make certain you get one with updated bios that will support current AMD Ryzen processors. This is very important.

Next get an AMD ryzen 5 CPU. Some models of this cpu will not work with the above motherboard  unless it has the latest bios update so beware. A ryzen 5 1600 is a good choice and very cost effective compared to an Intel with similar oreformance.

Ram prices are utterly obscene right now so unless you NEED more go with 8GB. You can get another stick when prices drop. I recommend Kingston hyper x fury.

Add in an nvidia 960 GPU from EVGA.

A standard WD 1tb HD will do.

An ATX case from diypc and a bronze certificate 500w power supply and you will have a killer system that should handle any game or video application in the foreseeable future.

A rosewill galaxy case is good, but there are cheaper ones.

Just a random thought here: In america we've been told all our problems are caused by "welfare queens", "immigrants", "drug users", "criminal gangs", "moochers", "illegal aliens" and other groups of poor people who have no real power in america.

Isn't it time to ask if maybe, just maybe, most of america's problems are cause by the very rich who have the power to take most jobs out of america, take trillions of dollars out of america and hide it overseas,  buy politicians to pass laws favoring them that hurt everyone else and control most media in america?

If Jesus Christ got a haircut, would they have to revise all of the paintings, statues & other effigies to him?

If Jesus Christ got a haircut, would all of the parents in Western society have to grow long hair, while rebellious teens would go for that short cropped combed clean look?

If Jesus Christ got a haircut, would one of those big chain hairstylists try to take credit for it, saying that their limited time five ninety-nine special was so good, it inspired the Rapture?
