OK, not gonna name names, but this story is too funny NOT to share . . . I teach these twin sisters who both have very strong allergies to peanuts. So, today one of them was not in class when the bell rang. I asked the other: "Is your sister absent or just running late?"
 She replied, perfectly deadpan:
 "She's dead - I finally killed her!"
Two can play that game, I thought.
"You should have eaten her," I said; "Then you could both still be here for class!"
Without hesitating she shot back: "Oh, no Mr. Smith, if I ate my sister I would die - because she's a NUT!!!"

Well played, kid, well played indeed!

Woke up this morning and thought how I have a beautiful husband, beautiful children, a beautiful house, a precious life, material plenty, fulfilling jobs, a kick-ass car, many dear friends, and I thought, no wonder I feel so happy.

Then I saw euphoria was listed as a possible side-effect of the antibiotics I been taking the last couple days but I dismissed that as coincidence.

Do babies have like an inexhaustible supply of energy? Could this be tapped in some way to power the national grid?

If we could come up with a way to turn noise into power you'd be right. I was in a target store earlier thus week and some damn baby/toddler was screaming at the top of its damn lungs. I literally could hot stand it, the sound was making my ears bleed. I went away from a section I wanted to check and as soon as i headed in that direction another little blob of snot srated in just the same right where I was headed. I was forced to flee the store, the pain in my ears was unbearable.

You were once "a blob of snot'.
I've had 2 babies-yeah-they cry.
They also laugh, play, grow up, and hopefully make you proud.
I know my kids do.

On a lighter note- Jed put 6 peas up his nose when he was a year and a half old. Sitting in his high chair.
I had to take him to the hospital and they used twizzers to extrcat them.
Johnny Rivas's kid did the same thing with dried pinto beans. The same year-1993.
WTF?  Question

Look people , maybe it's just the resonant frequency of my aural canals but screaming kinds hurt me, it's  physically painful ,  grok?  Maybe it's just a peculiar glitch of my auditory anatomy but it's a thing.

Sounds like the plot of Monsters Inc. As ER says thought, you were once that same age and just as noisy I'd bet. If that causes you pain you must have had a hell of time as a baby.

The radio is relentlessly playing christmas songs. I always find it slightly odd just how many of these songs are depressing. I did manage to make it all the way to the 13th before having to listen to Wham's 'Last Christmas' dirge.

I've always liked The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl's Fairytale of New York.

I remember seeing them perform that on Top of the Pops when it first came out. Now I feel really old. Cheers Trev. :P
