Work made me learn how to drive this week and I passed my test on Friday (they also paid for the lessons and test so I am not going to complain about it even though learning to drive wasn't something I ever really wanted to do). Now suddenly, loads of people I know just happen to be selling a car that would be perfect for a first time driver. They are all going to be very disappointed though as 1) since I am going to be away for 8 months of this year I don't see the point in getting a car until I get back and 2) I don't generally buy expensive things off friends as I've seen too many friendships ruined when someone buys something, then something goes wrong with it.

Happy Valentine's Day, my friends. May we all have the love we want, rather than the love we deserve.

Hillary's barking keeps reminding me of that scene from Dudes (1987), And I keep half expecting her to shout "Everything is totally f****d!"

You wouldn't think a digital domain could feel like a home.
Yet no matter what happens in my life, there's always this place.

More killing time waiting to go into church thoughts….

Ever notice Sheriff Taylor tells a whopper lie on every episode of The Andy Griffith Show?

Amelia Bedilia deserves to have had a big-screen movie by now.

Amanda Palmer must have sold her soul to Satan. WHY does Neil love her so much????

When I put on cherry Chap Stick before bed, I sometimes dream about smelling it.

I keep watching these Mormon videos my friend gives me, and I’ll grant them one thing, the geography of Arabia does match-up well with the descriptions of sites from the First Book of Nephi.

I’ve never had a Nehi soft drink. (Yes I did make a Nephi/Nehi connection.)

How do rocks end up in your shoe when you walk? There are no holes in the shoe, no openings in the side, not even a discernable gravely surface, but often you’ll end up with a rock in your shoe! How? It’s almost like aliens stun you, take off your shoe, stick in a rock, and revive you, then laugh (out the blow holes in their heads) as you dump the rock out.

Pie was invented by someone who’d never heard of cake.

The acceptable levels of sexual harassment on this old show called Moonlighting are simply jaw-dropping.

“That which gives light must endure burning.” I will never EVER forget the day that was said to me.

As a child I was crushed to learn there was no such thing as a “Boo-berry.”

Ever notice in the movies Frankenstein(‘s creation) never quite grasps the door handle principle?

I am told in Korean there are more than a dozen words for describing different sorts of kisses.

I am a walking series of contradictions. I am a gun-toting vegetarian. I am fairly politically conservative, yet I oppose the death penalty. I want a reasonably moral society, yet favor the legalization of drugs and prostitution. I cherish free expression, but don’t like what a lot of people do with it.

I think Anais Nin was an amateur when it comes to diary-keeping.

I can’t help but sometimes think things like, “Imagine Jesus drunk.”

The water in Brazil had this flat boiled taste.

When I was sixteen I wanted to take my dad home an éclair, so I got one from this pastry shop called Servatii’s, and asked the nice lady at the counter if she’d put three puffs of whipped cream on top and three cherries. She did, and I was so appreciative, I gave her a tip. Made my day. Later I went back and she wasn’t there, so I asked about her. That nice lady had been fired because she ran over a trash can when she showed up to work drunk, and yelled at a customer for staring at a trash can under her car. Gosh.

Ever wonder about Wookie sex?

I associate playing RISK with killing time in the basement during tornado warnings. Thing is, by the time we had it set up, the storm had usually passed.

Okay, enough thinking. Time for church.
