RIP Powers Boothe

I just discovered that for years, I've been confusing Michael Ironside and John Saxon with The Late Powers Boothe...

Michael ironside, john saxon and powers boothe could be brothers. Imo, they are all great actors with very powerful foreheads but i think ironside would win in a forehead fight.

- i was watching gorgoyles ( tv series) and realized:
Their loincloths also turn to stone. This has blown my mind. I am trying to approach this in a scientific manner. There has to be an explanation.

When I was little I loved staying up late (for me) Saturday nights in the '80s to watch Doctor Who on our local PBS channel with my Dad, and this was the John Nathan-Turner era, like late Tom Baker episodes, Peter Davison, the first series with Colin Baker. That time. Cherished memories. Well now it's come out that John Nathan-Turner was apparently this closeted homosexual predator, whose alleged misdeeds of molestation, sexual harassment, and gratification-for-influence almost reach Bill Cosby levels. John Nathan-Turner, this fuzzy, friendly, smiling, goofy, sci-fi loving Brit, who produced All Creatures Great and Small, and Doctor Who pretty clearly preyed on the vulnerable in stomach-churning ways. Isn't anybody going to leave anything sacred?

Very saddened to hear this. I loved that era of Dr Who. In the past few years many of the people I used to love watching on TV in the UK as a child have turned out to be sexual predators.

Okay, I'll make a deal with ya'! You can get rid of all the Civil War memorials & statues, And turn all the cities into Sanctuary Cities IF AND ONLY IF you bring back The Volstead Act!

So, I got an email from a gas station chain thanking me for applying but saying that I "are not the right fit for the position at this time".  So I wrote back, first thanking them for actually contacting (something so few employees do these days) but asked if that "this time" meant I might be a good fit down the road?  I added I just want to clarify, so I'd know whether or not to try re-applying in six months.

I don't know, I REALLY hope I didn't sound sarcastic, because I'm being sincere. I know there's some things that people will look at and say, "Uh, we're not hiring this guy, period."  And if that's the guess, I'd rather they just tell me upfront so I can permanently cross them off my list rather than waiting six months and re-applying when their ad inevitably  shows up again.

Your better than that. Being a combustible-fuel technician is overrated.

I appreciate the compliment, but pride doesn't put money in my pocket.  :(

Funny how the passing of Roger Ailes is getting more press, yet more people care about the passing of Chris Cornell...
