Just a reminder that there is a new episode of Ghosthunters on tonight and the debut of Ghosthunters International.  It is the little things in life that get me excited.

I forgot all about it.  Did they have a whole new group of people doing it or something?  The cases looked interesting from the TV commercials.

I forgot all about it until I saw this topic last night at like, 9:35 and it was almost over.  I like Donna (and have a slight crush on her), but I don't know if I'd watch this.  I'll watch the full ep next week, but what bothers me is the fact that Andy and Brian are two of the investigators.  Andy is flat out annoying, and Brian is fine in SMALL doses, but there's only so many times he can be like, "Hey dude, check this" or "What was that?" or freaking out over seeing a cat or an orb in a picture.

100% agreement.

The team is pretty much made up of a bunch of TAPS rejects, a new girl, Barry from the Ireland/England episodes and an entirely new team leader.

The team leader is from another paranormal group and has zero personality.  The new girl didn't get much screen time but she seemed tolerable.  Otherwise, it's Donna and Brian two people I can take or leave.  Back in the fold is Andy Andrews who I couldn't stand when he was on Ghost Hunters.  Back in 2006 at a horror con, I ran into Steve Gonsalves and asked him what happened to Andy since his appearances abruptly ended and his name was removed from the title sequence.  Steve told me that he went over Jason and Grant's heads to the producers asking for more face time and everyone agreed that he was out.

The first two hunts were exercises in debunking absolutely every piece of potential evidence and dismissing all claims.  Andy and Rob, the new team leader, spend a lot of time with their hands on their hips and their brows furrowed, patting each other on the back at how awesome they are at questioning everything.  I suppose a plausible ghost hunt needs that kind of skepticism but the double whammy of these two personalities is nothing short of grating.  Top this off with Rob's bizarre provocation techniques where he more or less poses with invisible space as if he's going to get some posed ghost shot.  The second location, a former alleyway/slum covered over in the 1700's was pretty cool, though.

I don't see this show lasting particularly long.  The winning formula of Ghost Hunters is pretty much all in the people involved and their chemistry.  The international team is just godawful.

Seriously? I never knew that little whiney guy had it in him to do something like that!

As for the new show, meh. It's ok. All I know is that the girls were screaming at stuff and they ran around a castle for a few minutes taking pictures at random in order to catch a ghost they thought they were chasing.
That's kind of silly in my book.

I like Donna.

But as for the others, I didn't particularly like Andy on the original GH.

I never could stand Andy when he was on GH. I was glad when he vanished. When I heard he was going to be on this new show, I groaned. The new leader, Rob, wasn't very appealing to me and the other cast offs from GH, Donna and Brian, I can only take in small doses. All in all, a big disappointment. Hopefully things will improve.

I thought that new guy Robb was way too overbearing, and too serious.

He needs to loosen up a bit so it's not quite so obvious that he's reading from a script when he's explaining things.

I hope it gets better.  At least that Irish guy didn't run from everything like he did when GH was in Ireland last season.

Finally caught the first half of it last night.  I didn't think it was all that bad.  The team leader really makes me realize how Jason's strong personality is what drives the original Ghost Hunters.  This guy just doesn't have much personality and like somebody else said, sounds like he's reading his lines.  That Irish guy who heard a noise and took off sprinting through the castle snapping random photographs, man, that's just silly.  And poor Donna, always so willing to accept all that goofiness.

I can't imagine what they dug up that Andy guy for.  Didn't they fire him from TAPS about 3 times?  It seems like every word out of his mouth is a lie, if he ever found any important evidence I think it would be meaningless because he's got zero credibility.  I had to chuckle when all their batteries were going dead - yeah, look who your equipment manager is  BounceGiggle

Buy overall, eh, it's people wandering about in a darkened scary place.  I kind of like it.  I am getting fairly sick of every moment of excitement being the cue for commercial though.

The second episode was marginally better than the first IMO, but still suffered from what I would call over dramatization.

Dreadful.  I keep watching, and it keeps getting worse.  I think they need to dump the show so that people don't lose what little respect they have for the original Ghost Hunters.

I don't really like this one much.  I love the original GH, and that team has good chemistry, even with the new people on it since Donna, Brian and Andy left.  This new show isn't much fun to watch and it's like they lack any kind of chemistry.  People say, "Oh they're new and getting used to each other."  Donna, Andy and Brian have known each other for years, even before GH had a show apparently, so why don't they work well together?  I love Donna but this show isn't as good.

Jason and Grant do bring the chemistry to the original show but it's been three or four years for GH, International is just warming up. I hope. I like Barry because he brings something different to the team and can communicate in other languages, which helps.

As for Andy, they didn't fire him, that was Brian, who quit and then came back (and then sort of left again... and then came back.) But I will agree that their equipment problems are showing already. I wonder if anyone will bring that up with Brian Lookingup. Too bad Steve has a fear of flying Bluesad

I think the show would be better if they got rid of Barry.  That guy has absolutely zero credibility with me.
