You guys were so great last time that I decided to think about some other obscure (well, to me anyway) films I saw as a kid.

Anyway, I only remember a specific scene from this movie which was made in the late 1960's or early 70's.There's a guy in a partial clearing in a jungle, or some tropical setting, and he seems to be trying to avoid some others who are looking for him.The man is naked though you can't see anything as the vegetation obscures it and there's some kind of a life "pod", canister, tube, etc. lying on the ground just big enough for one person to fit in.I don't know if he came out of it or they want to put him in it.

I'm pretty sure there was also a gun in the movie that looked similar to a pen but could melt people (or do similar damage).I'm not sure about this last part but I think the guy might have had tattoos all over him. You'd think I'd remember a unique feature like that for sure but I just can't be certain as I don't think I saw the whole movie. It did seem rather creepy/weird.Anybody have any clues on this one ? Thanks !

Hi, myusername.

I am giving away my age here but I think this film might be Douglas Trumbull's "Silent Running" (1972) with the great Bruce Dern.

It also sounds kinda like the 1968 the ILLUSTRATED MAN...eith Rod Steiger. It's an oddball antohology movie...and one of the stories concerns astronauts on the jungle planet Venus. Plus Rod Steiger is naked and covered in tattoos.

Thanks for the replies.I'm thinking the illustrated man just might be it, I'm going to see if I can get my hands on a copy (my library lets me order stuff free) without having to buy it, just to be sure. Thanks for the help !
