been loking for a movie i saw possibly in the 70's.
one, or i'm pretty sure more than one black van, customized like with armour over the windshields maybe?
seems like drivers were never seen.
movie ends with killer van getting pushed over a cliff?
desert scenes?
memory's not too good on the details.
i dig any ol car movie, especially in the desert, yet for some reason i vaguely remember this one and HAVE TO HAVE IT or my life will not be complete!!!

it's not these (i remember it as a VAN):
"duel"
"wheels of terror"
"the car"
"death car on the freeway"

thanx much!

Most of the movie revolved around the van(s) killing people?  Or was it a post-apocalyptic movie and the vans were just there?  I am guessing it is the former.

Have you seen "Nightmares?"  It is an anthology and one part has a priest being chased by a supernatural black pickup truck.

I'm going with Andrew's guess of Nightmares.  The priest is chased through the desert by a demonic black truck.  I have a feeling it's the film.

The car in DEATH CAR on the FREEWAY was a custom van-with the windows blackened. I remeber it as a kid...

nah.
i will be getting the "death car on the freeway" movie, as i don't have it and am not sure if i've seen it.
however, from that kool clip (thanx much), i'm sure it's not that movie.

i seem to remember the van(s) with like armour. maybe somewhat over the windshield & a fairing?

also, from what i've been able to find on the hbo saturday nightmare/ the hitchhicker series, that really doesn't look right either

thanx much though,
still looking...

"Nightmares" is a movie that is a compilation of 4 parts - like "Creepshow."

The IMDb page for "Nightmares:"

yes, and the nightmares shows look decent, yet i haven't seen anything that is really convincing me that it's one of those. they seem so much more like tv shows than movies, and so that doesn't seem quite right either.

however, after like 8 hours of searching today i have found something so close, i'll have to watch it to determine for sure that it's not what i'm remembering.

it's just that i remember a set of vans that were built similarly to the truck in this movie:
this one is called "warlords of the 21st century" aka "BattleTruck" 1982 (i would have been 17 yrs old yet it seems i saw the movie that i'm looking for when i was younger than that)

i hear this movie even has a similar ending with it going over the cliff... don't they all though...

What was the setting?  Post-apocalyptic future with lots of people in clothing like "The Road Warrior" or present day?  Armored vehicles turn up in a lot of the post-apoc films.  "Battletruck," if memory serves, was more of a big rig.  Warrior of the Lost World had an armored dump truck.

What did the vans do?  What did other characters do?  What were the settings like?  Any other memories of the film?

Warlords of the 21st Century was going to be my guess.
