2 movies:

1) it was late 70's or early 80's -on tv- can't remember if we had cable yet or not. there were 3 black guys dancing and singing in a train station-dressed up in red hats maybe/ then i think towards the end of the movie some guy on the train turns everyone to wax. (NOT TERROR TRAIN)
2)definitely early to mid 80's cable movie: some people were in columbia or somewhere- i don't know why they were there/they were trying to escape from some furry beasts/some guys sitting in the jungle playing russian roulette-one blows his head off/people taking off in a plane and one of the furry beasts jumps out on the plane or was in the plane -i can't remember

any thoughts??

Number 2 reminds me somewhat of Dance of the Dwarfs. It has the jungle and the plane elements, but the monsters were more reptilian.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

i really appreciate the help, so i googled visions of doom. it doesn't appear to exist. my memory of this movie is extremely vague, but i've always wanted to find out what it was. are you sure thats the right name? i would think i dreamt the movie up or something except that my sister has the same exact memory of it that i do. we can't have both dreamt it up...oh who knows...
maybe the people weren't wax, maybe they were just frozen, all except one guy/dark haired. but it was definitely a train. anything about frozen and/or wax people on a train.

oh and thanks, dance of the dwarfs is the other name i was looking for. cool.

No.1 is definitely not Visions of Domm because the plot for that movie goes something like this "A young woman just released from a mental hospital moves back in with her family. However, she is soon troubled by disturbing visions in which she commits a series of axe murders.", and there is no train involved.

But I have been looking for your title on IMDB and had no luck so far. It would help if you remembered what else was going-on on that train. Was it a horror, thriller, action movie?

The original poster says that #1 is not TERROR TRAIN, but he doesn't say it's not NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR... the train, the singing, the passengers who are frozen or refrozen/rendered inert by the Conductor... all that screams NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR. Not all of the singers are black but some are. My suspicion (given that the O.P. remembered some elements of DANCE OF THE DWARVES/JUNGLE HEAT inaccurately but then acknowledged that he was misremembering DOTD/JH) is that one or more people IRL or on the internet have tried to identify NTTT for him but either they mistakenly call it TERROR TRAIN (and he sees TERROR TRAIN and is sure that's not his film) or else he misread or misheard...

NTTT is '84, DOTD/JH was '83 iirc... maybe the poster caught 'em both at the same time, back-to-back on TV, on a grindhouse or drive-in double bill, or he just rented 'em as VHS new releases at in same (now mentally hazy) period of the early-mid 80s.......
