This was INCREDIBLE. I mean, the masked Mexican wrestling films have always been amusing, because the wrestlers go about their daily lives wearing masks. They don't have secret identities, they just wear their masks all the time. It's pretty funny to see a man wearing a blue wrestling mask and matching suit, or a polo shirt.
Still, this is the one. Blue Demon and the other good guy wrestlers are pitted against an evil scientist and his army of superhuman midgets! The scientist uses a device to give the midgets 10X the strength of a normal man. All the midgets wear red outfits, with capes! At first, the midgets and their massive strength get the better of the wrestlers. Blue Demon is in danger of being slapped to death by red-garbed midgets, but then the treatment wears off and the midgets cannot hurt the wrestler.
So, it's back to the drawing board for the doctor. He makes strength-empowering bracelets for the midgets and they attack again. Unfortunately, for the midgets, the bracelets malfunction (or get ripped off) and the masked wrestlers start throwing midgets into the air!
Eventually, the wrestlers find the evil mastermind's hideout. They charge in and run into a bunch of midgets with submachine guns! A wrestler throws a midget (dummy) into a control panel, resulting in a fire! The wrestlers finally triumph and watch their goddaughters win high honors in a beauty pageant!
Talk about an amazing movie. It is one fight after another, midget on wrestler, time and again. The formula does get a little repetitious, but how can you not love this movie?
