Hi all,

I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up to let you know  that RetarDEAD is almost done. We’re expecting to have DVDs in May.

To give you a little background, RetarDEAD is the sequel to Monsturd (which was reviewed by badmovie.org regulars Nathan Shumate(http://www.coldfusionvideo.com/archives/monsturd-2002/)

and Foywonder

The final trailer can be found here:
http://www.4321films.com/retardead/index.html

If you guys liked Monsturd (a movie we like to think was good-bad), you’re gonna LOVE RetarDEAD. As one of the filmmakers, I’d say it’s twice as good and four times as crazy as Monsturd. It took us five years to get this one out. And unlike Monsturd which cost us $3K, RetarDEAD cost about $15K. We really tried to put a lot of production value in it.

The movie has:
More than 200 people in it. Monsturd only had 69 people
We actually hired (and paid) a special effects make-up artist to do the gore effects for his. His name’s Ed Martinez and he did the effects work for the 80’s zombie movie “The Dead Pit.”
More than 90% of the actors in Monsturd return in some shape or form in RetarDEAD
Jello Biafra (former lead singer of the Dead Kennedys) plays the town’s mayor.
We’ve got an awesome scene in the movie with “The Living Dead Girlz,” a San Francisco-based zombie dance troupe. Check ‘em out at www.livingdeadgirlz.com
The movie’s opening narration is done by none other than Herschell Gordon Lewis, and David Friedman appears on camera in a brief cameo.
We even have a cameo appearance by Andy Deemer, the producer on Poultrygeist!

If any of you would like to be notified when RetarDEAD becomes available on DVD, please send an email RetarDEADNews@4321films.com. Make sure you put RetarDEAD in the subject line.

I purchased Monsturd and have watched it multiple times.  Monsturd was better than Titanic.

Love the website! I come here and lurk in the shadows often!

The Official Soundtrack to RetarDead features music by Marshall Crutcher (who did the music for Monsturd!) plus additional music by Seattle's Monkeys With Machine Guns and guest vocals by KP Kendall and guest guitar work Bill "The Big Kahuna" Henderson of the Tacoma band Girl Trouble on the Themesong (also with returning actress from Mondturd and themesong singer Lisa Rein!) plus a few tracks from Canada's Giant Leaches and Orange Records, Surf Rockers the Manatees. Here is the cover art!

When are they going to make a official pressed release? Not a big fan of dropping 20 bones on a DVD-R, to much compression and a limited shelf life.

Actually, I think the Film Baby copies they have in stock are actually replicated (not duplicated), so they're legit DVD copies. They're DVD-9 discs (i.e., dual layer) So the image quality is very good. And there's no die coloring on the bottom of the disc, which is a give-away to a DVD-R disc.

I should also use this space to let everyone know that we are going to forgo traditional distribution with this title.

We had Monsturd with Elite for close to four years. And during that entire time, we didn't see a single penny. We've got the rights back and will be selling this one ourselves in the coming months.

Now that the Internet is where it is today, independent filmmakers such as ourselves now have the ability to distribute our own product.

With regards to the $19.95 cost for the movie... Yes, it sounds expensive, especially when you can go to your local discount store and buy DVDs for, like, five bucks, but know that the money you're spending is going to the filmmakers, which we can tell you will be pumped right back into our next movie.

Nope, we haven't signed a distribution deal yet for AU. If you've got the name of a reputable distrub in the area that you could recommend, feel free to forward me the contact and I'll reach out to them. My email's on our Website (www.4321films.com)

Just an FYI,

RetarDEAD is now available on Amazon.com. Working on getting it up on CinemaNow and a few other streaming sites.

Got a couple other good reviews in the meantime, too!
