I'm not sure if its a movie or a tv movie....

this is what i remember, yesterday we saw pearl harbor and this movie poped into my head...

a girl living in california with her family, after pearl harbor is attacked there all taken to a camp with her family...they lost there home and all that they had they couldn't take anything with them....

the girl falls in love with either a guard or someone helping them in camp...

she moves back to japan and he goes there looking for her...

its not a really old movie but not something recent either...

thanks

Other than the moving back to Japan stuff, it sounds kind of like Midway.

"Come See the Paradise" has several of those plot points.

I would agree with akiratubo on this one, cause I saw the movie and it fits with your plot, except the thing about moving back to Japan. In this movie the oldest family member (father or maybe grandfather) of this girl is just saying that he would rather go back to Japan because he sees no future for him in America.
And the guy is actually her husband and a US soldier. They finally reunite at the end of movie where he is waiting for her or she is waiting for him at the train station.
