alien movie from the 80's

Saw this movie when i was younger and can't think of the name of it. All i remember is aliens come to earth and rip peoples heads off and put them on their body. I remember one scene that takes place in a doctors office where the doctor is about to have sex with his nurse and the alien rips off the doctors head and then goes to sleep with the nurse. Theres another scene where the alien rips the head off a dog and uses it. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Yes, that is it. The ripping off of the heads gives it away. But it is from 1991, which is close enough to the '80's.
