We're all just victims of circumstance

BigDog is kinda freaky looking and makes an annoying sound, but when it's stumbling around on that ice it looks very much like a real animal trying to balance itself.

Just ran across this video myself. Glad I searched for an old thread before starting a new one.

Man, that is just amazing how it can slip, stumble and get hoofed in the side yet manage to stay upright and keep moving. I was kind of surprised to learn that it runs on gasoline, but it makes sense for the power and speed this thing needs to do what it does. I'm not sure anything other than hydraulics driven by a gas engine would work as nicely.

What is really creepy is that it looks like some animal got its head and feet cut off, but managed to escape. Kind of like the reanimated slaughtered animals in Dead Heat. Actually, it almost looks like two such animals were cut in half and their back halves joined together. And its movements are so lifelike.

Here's a pretty funny video related to that one.
